Stegoforest and friends

Been waiting to pick up a painted Stego for a while. Saw the announcement of this micro run last night on Instagram. I'm a big Bwana fan, so I couldn't resist

Been waiting on some paint to get delivered for the regular run on the brown and blue.
Those should be ready to go in april Im guessing.

 

Bwana's version reminds me of funfetti cake. Mmmmmm.

so there are a couple new painted runs available..
potentially the last Stegoforests since the last I heard the molds were "missing" and its been a few months of trying to locate them.

 

Gorgeous, and sad to hear that these may be the last of them. Not sure how you can "lose" a mold, but I guess what they really mean is that they have it in storage somewhere and just aren't sure where.

Does anyone know what happen to Stegoforest? Couldn't find his IG and his thread kinda just stops.

 

Yes, Cory from Science Patrol liberated the Stegoforest tooling and they sold more versions in the past two or three years, IIRC.

Yes, I have both the Stegoforest and the Stegoforest Kappa molds. After I offered to produce the Stegoforest Kappa for Jesse he gave me full control of his OG Stegoforest mold as well. I've done about 3 releases of it and would send Jesse any of the Stegoforest Kappas that I made (I didn't have the time to paint them as well as they should be painted) for him to release. Due to an increase in client production and me having to prioritize my more popular sculpts with the little extra vacuum // bath space I have for myself I haven't been able to produce either of these toys recently.

When things slow down though and I can think of some kind of colourway that looks good (I've had a pretty decent idea for a little over a year now, but I don't know how it'll look in vinyl) there will definitely be more of these guys. And as soon as I get to pulling the mold that the Stegoforest Kappa is on Jesse will have some more boys for you guys to grab.

God, I wish. That material is insanely expensive...

 

Probably why we've only seen just one sofubi using it (that Yamanaya Dino-Tank). Would be cool if the trees on Stegoforest's back changed from brown to green, though (or vice-versa).

 

I had forgotten about this lovely lil' bugger... so great! Wish I had been able to grab one...

 

Nice to hear his molds are in good hands. The kappa was my favorite of his, perfect textures.

 

I want to say that frog pitch plant guy that Jungle makes was also released in colour change material.
