Hey Guys, I am new to the forum, I am working on a huge selection of vintage vinyl records and from time to time I need help identifying some stuff. I have a new unopened, factory sealed Stone Temple Pilots - Purple LP There were some that were issued in the US and some in Europe The barcode on mine is - 7567-82607-1 The code on the spine reads - 82607-1 The yellow factory sticker on the front reads - 82607-1 Atlantic Recording printed in the US Now the ones that were in Europe are in a rare Purple transparent Vinyl, and the ones from the US are in the Black Vinyl. How can I tell what I have without opening it? thanks!!
hahaha no I did not! well I have none of those, I guess I have to keep looking for a vinyl "Record" forum. thanks for the heads up
^ despite the confusion, probably still the best new skullbrain member of the 2013, taste in music notwithstanding.
Hahaha, this thread may my day. What an odd thing to happen (not that there aren't plenty of record collectors on here as well).
I am going to venture to guess that you have the purple vinyl version. http://www.discogs.com/Stone-Temple-Pil ... ster/51722 if you check the catalog numbers listed for the LPs, 7567 seems to indicate purple vinyl.
I hate Stone Temple Pilots. This thread burns my eyes when I come to the safe haven vintage toy forum. Can we please get a mod to remove it?
Not even a pause at the fork in the road, look up, see where you are, evaluate and then make a decision on whether to join let alone post? Weird. And besides, it's a real pleasure to take the shrinkwrap off an LP and then put it in one of those lovely mylar or poly sleeves.
I don't know, some of the topic titles might've looked like awesome band names....SQUEAK! Tiger Mask & DINOS!DINOS!DINOS!
Thanks for the sensible mod who made the change. Wherever this belongs, it certainly wouldn't be in the vintage section, even if it were the right category. Shows how 'open' the floodgates of SB are these days. You don't need to know what you are talking about, heck, you don't even need to know what the forum is for. But then, looking at some of the posts here, maybe I am the one that doesn't know what this forum is for.
There are a lot of record collectors here, but collecting STP is the toy equivalent of d unnies. Yikes
^^^^ HA! Shit, the early 1990's are now considered vintage?! And, for the record, STP has always sucked.
I know you didn't mean to stir the pot or accuse anyone of anything with this statement, but I'm not sure what else we can be doing to make sure that people that join are going to be great contributing members. We can't really grill every single registrant and ask them what they know about the culture around here. All we can do is invite them to read the rules and hope that they're not a-holes.
Challenge_________________________accepted. [And that is what I look like when I am in a good mood Bill.] I know James, didn't mean to seem like I am attacking mods for not controlling the membership. I just remember how it took me a long time reading the forum and then over ten months and several emails after I 'registered' to get fully activated. There's no easy answer. You hope people come here for the right reasons, but inevitably the tide brings in some flotsam and leaves it on our shores.
