Here's some TT toys that don't get a lot of love: Takatoku pachi dinos! Gotta love standing triceratops w/ blood streaming from his mouth. There are two other standard size that vintagevinyl shows in this thread towards the bottom: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=13537&hilit=dinos&start=25
Are they really pachi though? They are [sort of] real dinosaurs, and are from a larger company. JK, just picking nits. Those are fine lookin' dinos Mark. A lot more detail and paint combinations than some comparable ones, and clearly more on the fearsome side. I am probably seeing too much in it just because of the colour similarity, but the mini Stegosaurus is really reminding me of the Godzilla from the HG Toys set. It is not helping that you posed him almost the same!
Wow, those are just... neat! They remind me so much of when I was little. But when did Triceratops get a taste for meat? That's clearly not canon.
duh I'm a moron, I was thinking this thread was for vinyl robot toys, not a specific brand. Oops. I've been toying with the idea of making a vinyl robot and got all excited before I read everything...
Hey, no worries Jeff. There are a few robot threads as well, some for each of the lines (Mach Baron, etc.), some for companies, as well as some general ones for robolove, so it's fine to go all over the place. I will never shy away from pics of vintage toys.
Here's some Takatoku MirrorMan love. Missing two of the smaller ones: A shot of some random heroes and kaijin that were not already shown in this thread. Missing two of the Kikaida kaijin and some Zone Family members. OOPS!!! HUGE MISTAKE. The light up Tiger 7 is by Masudaya, NOT Takatoku. Did not have my glasses on and saw the diamond encircling the letters on the foot and got it wrong. Very sorry. He does look good here, though.
Thanks for the information UltraKaiju, I didn't know who the mask light up. I think the mask made all the difference in this piece.
Ignore the other fellas; I always grab a Rainbowman piece from Takatoku when I see one out in the wild. I currently have 4 of 7 in total, (I don't think I've ever seen a leaf version) and I love each one. Rainbowman is one of my favourite tokusatsus of all time and these sculpts are my favourite depictions of him (amidst the endless sea of bootlegs and Yonezawa outings).
Just wondering if anyone knows if there are anymore TT Megaloman Kaiju? Pic of what i have so far below, i can't seem to find pictures of any others online or in any books i have, i just assumed they would have at least made a figure of Kamagidon who was in the first episode.
Those are really cool. Not too many collect them so its nice to see something different. I came across this set, although its not the same scale. I cant find any others though beyond the three you have, so im thinking its a no.
@XVivaHateX That is a cool set, i'd seen the Captain Dagger figure before but couldn't work out from the picture what size he was so looks like he is a smaller scale. I guess i've got them all in this size then, just seems strange not to start with the kaiju from the first episode?
Just wondering if someone could clear this up for me. I've got the Akumaizer 3 set of bagged mini figures with the Tokyo Tower, my question is what was Takatoku Toys relationship with Bullmark? From what i can see on these figures and the packaging is 'Bullmark' written on the bag and 'TT' and 'Bullmark' stamped on the feet of the figures. Also i've been struggling to figure out what the other word on the bag is? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
The other words on the bag are "mini kaiju series." Not sure about the relationship with Bullmark, but IIRC, some Kikaida toys are made by Takatoku and the toys also bear a Bandai sticker. Perhaps the larger companies, i.e. Bullmark and Bandai, owned the expensive licenses and contracted to Takatoku to make the toys. But, this is only a guess.
