I would love to see a kaiju sofubi painting reality show where the people being mocked in this thread have to compete against the people doing the mocking.

Plus some cattle prods.

I think it would be great to add something in the forum letting younger folks know that their brain is still developing and their emotions around validation and belonging are ... well... emotions. Maybe let artists know too.

As a psychologist, I m wondering if I should specialize in Kaiju addiction issue and artist emotional breakdown. "Did you recently have the misfortune of finding your artwork on Skullbrain's The fugliest toys you have seen while collecting.? Anyway, it is Violet's rant on IG that brought me here now. It's disturbing to me that this young dude can't seem to be able to differentiate between this thread and IG. As if it's all the internet, the container, the context, the intention, isn't a thing in his head.
I guess he spelled it out here for us too when he says 'tell it to my face'. No sense of context what-so-ever. All the same. If we put one of his horrible paint app job here we are personally attacking him and should enter a duel? Is that COVID isolation or social media madness or I am just getting old?

For people who stay away from IG or have more common sense than me and aren't following that young colorblind-very-vocal-not-angry-at-all dude, here is what he thinks is ok.

Wondering if anyone else see the line I see being crossed here or not?

I just blocked the dude. My question is: where is he getting so many of the same Godzilla toy? I’m out of the loop on Godzilla toys on the whole. What’s so special about it?

Most of the Desu he paint on are Akametenshi production. They are remake of Marmit s one and ... a great sculp? I have one (from Akametenshi, not clown painted), I like it a lot. Crazy price though.

His customs are selling for over $1500 a pop I believe. Make sense he think he is Picasso of sofubi or something. I imagine Picasso wasn’t selling his painting for that much at the same age... doesn’t help making sense of his thin skin and incredibly violent rant.

Well I just checked... I found a lottery for two Goji, $1195 a piece + shipping and a one of sold during a silent auction starting at $1250. I was in the ballpark.

@nico000 I admittedly have an embarrassingly hair trigger temper when I get pushed enough(mostly by myself) and I just blurt. I really just can’t believe that type of attitude and machismo garbage talk comin’ from a kid that got *that* all in his feelings over paint. Nothin’ will come of his babble, so the corny keyboard venting does alleviate frustration.

I put up a statement on IG. That’s as much attention that he’s getting for now.

@hellointerloper If I were you, not that you are asking or anything, I would erase my last post and block whiny kid and all his accounts. Nothing you can possible say or do will help. Much better to let him go crazy on his own and people see that and that only.

 

Ugly dolls, ugly personality. The single most over-hype goji sculpt, already assaulted by customisers near and far, somehow becomes less desirable.

I really can't get over how bad those colour choices are. I actually dig the idea of a more "snake"/reptile-styled Godzilla (although once again, the over-muscled desu seems a bad choice for the look), but his take is so overworked

 

I probably will take it down to be honest, this situation is a joke. Literally no one but him and his fake account said a word to me about it. Nobody seems to care. Just a guy screaming at a brick wall.

 

Gets called out for his passive threats of “say it to my face” and responds with “show me proof I made threats of physical violence” and sayin’ it’s a reach. Coward can’t even stand behind his own words he started with, doesn’t even acknowledge the mentally challenged comment, and says he hopes we’re all treated how we treat others. i hear people call this place toxic and so on and really to me it goes like this: someone comes in, doesnt read the rules, gets corrected, throws a fit, and gets told to get lost and somehow its everyone elses fault.

this specific thread is its own entity in my opinion. because of its nature someones bound to get their feelings hurt. in my few years of painting and making toys i have always thought about what i would do if my stuff ended up here. and the answer is nothing! your art is for you and if someone likes it enough to spend their day job money on it; thats really cool. but to throw a fit like that because one person doesnt like it? cmon now. thats just bananas

 

A part of me wonders if he just feels emasculated by my scrawny comment. He seems to be targeting me specifically, even though I was pretty tame in roasting the guy. He’s claiming I “body shamed” him. Please. He’s a beanpole trying to start fights with people. It’s like an obese person wanting to race someone in a marathon. Totally not credible.

So he's also misogynistic? This little spat has been very revealing hasn't it. Violet chose to go after a woman on this board, after all those macho comments. Also, a woman who was not involved with my original post that kicked things off in the first place.

Like the other painter who lost his shit on here recently, these boys are coddled by their favourite media platforms. FB/IG users help to pump up their egos and their bank accounts, and its a big shock when they see negativity about their work elsewhere. Fragile egos start to crumble.

And for the record, nobody has ever been 'brought down and bullied' on this thread. Yes, their toy or paint job may have been ridiculed for fun, but that's as far as it goes. I suppose its much easier to call anyone who criticises your (so called) 'art' a hater and then whine about it publicly to the collectors who already buy your shit. Real classy!
