I feel less bad for just recreating EVA colour schemes in that game now

Its just another person ripping off the nag body in a bad way. In the sense that there is so much unnecessary texture. Who is this toy intended market?

The paint also doesn't do the toy any favors.

Yep, like Frank's effort. Can't afford Nag? Buy something similar.

    Exactly...

As someone who personally isn't into the NAG thing, I try to look objectively to understand what the other collector sees in the toy.

When it comes to Oltretomba and Primitive Monster (I believe these are the names), I cannor see the appeal. I don't think there's a paint in the world I would want to see on them. The one you linked above is next level bad.

Didn't think I'd ever post this, but I've come to accept Frank's toy as basically the Mexican bootleg of Nag, especially if you look at the pricing (last time I checked at least). I don't need to own one, but the sculpt definitely seems more "genuine" (for lack of a better word) than Martijn's completely soulless pieces of shit. The fact that Oompaloompa desperately tried to create "hype mystery" when it was obvious from the get-go he made those only makes it that much more pathetic. PATHETIC!! (Hi Greg!)

Gen X/Y'ers brimming with equal parts nostalgic love for Winnie the Pooh, Manhunt & Terminator...?

Niche market sure, but in this current era of questionable tastes, probably larger than one would think.

Nag isn't my thing, and those are definitely fugly, but they're only about $80-90 so they don't offend me. ;p

^^ It doesn't offend me either, but its disappointing. Frank was beginning to make some interesting and original toys but then he seemed to take a sharp turn and started knocking out those Nag lumps and some Madball clones etc. It got lame, pretty quick.

Ugh. It had to be sealed away in a steel tank to contain its fugliness, and some still managed to escape.

Nigel Tufnel : The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and...

Marty : Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?

    Nigel Tufnel : Exactly.

Marty : Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?

Nigel Tufnel : Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?

    Marty : I don't know.

Nigel Tufnel : Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?

Marty : Put it up to eleven.

Nigel Tufnel : Eleven. Exactly. One louder.

Marty : Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?

Nigel Tufnel : [pause] These go to eleven.

I saw that, it looks interesting, they did some neat stuff with the clear parts, but I didn't see the appeal for an Ultraman or Godzilla collector. The styling is very Pokemon-ish.

I wonder how Marmit feels that their toy is being associated with so many lousy paint jobs.
