Eh, I had a change of heart (after viewing the original film) and am now happy with him.

But I have to give a special shout out to Loren from Viciousfun who emailed me with an offer to exchange it since I wasn't happy.

 

I got a custom Dualos painted by Mark Nagata. Sorry about the multiple pictures, but the paint is so awesome that I wanted to show it off from all sides.

Not sure why you're calling the toy ugly in this thread...if he's happy that's all that matters. You can talk about the sculpt in the max toy thread

 

This. Everyone has their own tastes, live and let live. I'm very impressed by the Mark's paint app, far better than anything I could achieve...

 

I like Mark's paints. I just didn't like this toy, that's all. I'm sure if he bought it its because he liked it, that much is obvious.

 

I'm sure dude's a nice guy but to me this just looks like every other Skulldrain hacks attempt with an airbrush . . . . hitting it with every metallic colour on the table!

Never seen the sculpt before but that seems to be suffering from the same 'trying too hard' issue!

But each to their own!

Isn't the other way around? Mark's been doing this for a long time, its more of he is being imitated.

 

Yeah, it definitely looks better in person than the pictures. It is hard to show off EXACTLY what it looks like. Last night on Facebook Mark said that it is hard to photograph and show off all of the details you can achieve with Monster Kolor, and he is right. It also really stands out more when looking at it in the sunlight, which is to be expected from metallic paints I suppose.
