I flipped when these pics of these started showing up last night. It's really cool to see a larger sculpt from Uzumark.

The videos are really helpful in showing the greatness of these toys. so much cool play function + crazy details.

For the pieces that get into that price range...Are these being bought by people "in the community" that just really love a particular artist? Or are these being sold to total outsiders who just get wrapped up in the hype? I guess I'm asking if these are going into the hands of toy collectors or art resellers.
I mean, it's hard to say since it's so subjective. But I will say you definitely see....clustering of hype artists with certain collectors. At this point it is rare to see Uzumark go into the collection of someone who has a bunch of non-hype toys in their collection as well. Where you see a big Uzumark collection you see a lot of other hype stuff often exclusively.
Surprised. Of course everyone's working with different means, but I do get the impression that $1000 is a hard limit for many, myself included. Had been waiting eagerly for the big dude, but it's a write-off. Edit: I'd point out that this is also down as a "store display" edition on the site. It's cool to think of it as a storefront display item, the kind of thing collectors aren't meant to own. But then the store owners who have carried Uzumark in the last couple of years have been major collectors as well.
It's a great looking toy, the color, the sculpt, the packaging. But forgive me, maybe it's my ego, but i see a big resemblance in the overall form of the figure and the head to my Uncle Steve figure. Minus the tuxedo and maybe stripped down to his boxers? Maybe i just need to raise my prices 7x in this current era to properly market myself.

WTF is with the astronomical price gouging from Mandarake x Uzumark on the Jimenjiu sets? 65,000 yen + tax? NO doubt these are great figures, but com'on. I'm usually not hard on Mandarake because I buy from them somewhat frequently and feel most of the stuff I get is fairly priced
