I know there is a Bemon pic thread but I think the 2 Headed Giant deserves it's own space. Please post your 2HB pics here. Here are mine:
A thread close to my heart I see those trades worked out, and the red and blue make a nice set. I will post mine later !
Stunning metallic blue, Alex! May I know the color of the vinyl which the figure was based on? Looks like off white/cream based? My only 2 Headed Bemon...the first thing that overwhelmed me is really the sculpt, among others....
Awesome pics Jay! The blue one is on milky blue, semi-clear vinyl. You can see the unpainted vinyl on the belly.
Great pics Alex and Jay! I've been wanting a 2-headed for sometime now...one day. I'd have to say that blue and red are my favorites. And I didn't know the blue was on semi-clear vinyl; thanks for the info.
The first photo of that blue one looks amazing! First time I've actually wanted one of these guys. The color of the belly/vinyl is terrific! But then the second photo makes it look darker. Which is more true to the toy? (And thanks for starting a new 2-Head thread! I intended the other Bemon thread to be for the pollution dude.)
Thanks Zinc and NT! The first pic of the blue 2HB is more accurate. The darker pic was taken outside right before a storm so it's dark and weird. You can see the light coming through the vinyl in this pic:
Wow great pics guys, the blue 2 head looks amazing.. Still no 2 head for me, im sure it will be a while before my time comes for one. Someone please post a pic of the black one if they have it, that thing is SICK!
The 2HB is a great, and feels awesome in hand, but the oversized veins on the arms weird me out for some reason. They're sorta disruptive to the look, and feel weird when handling the toy.
While I myself am not the owner of, nor a viable shopper of this piece - I always thought it was the green version that was most attractive, hands down. This thread has made the metallic paint on the blue much more apparent, and the blue just might dethrone the green in my book. Such a nice paint-job.
That is true but they do appear on the original artwork from WAY WAY back, so i guess he wanted to keep it as close as possible to the original.
Had to pick it up again to browse....no issue number. I think it's a special issue hence on the cover "special collector's edition" of the Monster World Magazine.
Fun fact.. If you own that issue, turn to page 66 and you will see an add where you can actually order your own real live baby squirrel MONKEY, yes a real live monkey of all things, $19.95..The things you could order out of these old magazines was crazy.
famous Monsters rules. #114 is a great all Japanese monsters issue. to the topic on hand though, WOW! That thing is huge! I had no idea until I saw it in scale with an issue of FM!
at first i was bummed to see that the ball was made out of vinyl. only because i had a bemon ball first and its made out of heavy metal and gnarly.
I was at a friends place a couple days ago and had to take a pic of this. He said a friend of his made it for him out of resin. don't know if it was inspired by this, but by the looks of it seems so.
Definitely inspired by that creature for sure. Thats a really nice piece actually, love the little skull detail.
Here is another resin kit based on the Famous Monsters cover. It was sculpted by Mike Parks of Madlab Models. I did the paint on this one back around 1996-98 for a store in L.A. called Creature Features.
