Anyone hear about these new Toy Mafia events? First one is this Sat (4/27) with releases from MVH and Cop A Squat. If anyone plans on attending i have a small favor, hit me up!
I think you might want to put that last part in the wanted section, no? In any case, as for the show, I cant wait for pictures of it. C.A.S.T. toy is really growing on me, I would love to see more of it and MVH is always great.
was unsure if i should make a whole wanted post cuz i just want a shirt. thought id target locally first to see if someone bites. I'll give it a day and then move it
if you have a wants thread, you could just edit for the time being. that way this thread could be dedicated to the clutter thing.
Will do. Any thoughts on the events then? Curious what older boardies feel about it, if its genuine or simply someone cashin in? Besides clutter i dont know who is actually behind the events I really like the Toy Mafia "collect or die" shirt
I just wish they'd come up with a different name. Don't like Toy Mafia, don't get it. The Clutter DTAs was an ok time, Just a bunch of nerds having their day. A wide array of collective interests, and I don't see eye to eye with most of them and the toy types they enjoy. I'd prefer a more Sofubi focused gathering or group, but I think the NY Skull Crew if there ever was one, has widely disbanded.
I was under the impression that the toy mafia stuff was going to be more sofubi focused. That blurb i posted does say designer toys but i think that they would consider neo kaiju/sofubi designer.
I agree Joe, don't like that word play either. Kind of reminds me of Godfather paintings in Italian pizzerias. DTAs was fun. I ate some good food and got drunk. The NY collectors don't really call themselves anything because that's kind of corny. We still lurk in the shadows
Weird it's a party at a bar with an exclusive toy/shirt release. I collect toys because I'm socially reclusive.
Not that I felt this wasn't from the start, but that poster just made this event the lamest thing ever. You New Yorkers try waaaaay too fucking hard Sorry Rich / Adam, no offense...
I'm just excited that people are interested in something I've been working on for three years. I'm happy to be part of it and appreciate the gesture from the folks at Clutter. I'm sure it would be a good time and hell I don't even like most people. I mean it could be worse, we could be asking for your first born in trade of a piece of vinyl.
The guy on the poster doesnt seem to keen about it. either way, I had a few questions, does the snake being cut up mean anything? The mafia bosses or something? who's the head?
I realized that, I just thought the number of parts represented people in the collective or something. Thanks for the response.
