Hey nerds, How do I get albums off my old ipod to put on to my new ipod touch? I know there's ripping software for this, but I'm not sure what to use, I'm on a mac. Thanks! -Chuck
iTunes rips CDs to MP3 according to whatever advanced preferences you have set up. Mac the Ripper rips DVDs and removes the encryption so you can dup them. If you use iTunes, it should store all your music in your home directory on the mac. Haven't tried it, but this might help: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_tr ... z1EMeQrmWP
I know how to transfer music from itunes to the ipod. My problem is about 80% of my music on my old ipod is not backed up, and there is no way to get it off my ipod or itunes without some kind of application. I just thought I'd ask here to see if you guys recommend something for this.
Chuck, I had a similar problem years ago and used this application called Senuti: http://www.fadingred.com/senuti/ It can recover what's on your old iPod. I love Mac but loathe how they make you jump through hurdles to recover what's yours because they'd rather have you repurchase everything (songs) again! What if your like me and never purchased anything?
I haven't had this problem before but wanted to know the answer just in case. I came across this; maybe it could help? http://www.metaphoriclabs.com/articles/ ... -mac-os-x/
My ipod was near full. I ripped two cd's to Itunes. They synced with the ipod an I get the exclamation point saying "over capacity" or full. I check the pod and the cd's are on it. So the question is: Did Ipod delete some music without asking me? It suddenly found unused space? WTF?
Yeah, Senuti works great for the Mac. My trial expired awhile back and I haven't tried to get it back. I should definitely look for it again though. EphPod works well too for PCs.
