SEPTEMBER LOTTERY IS OVER, PEOPLE SHOULD BE RECEIVING NOTICES! Nari San has stated in his Twitter that from now on he wants to do more simple, classic style paint jobs. So this month we kick off this trend with... PUPPET SEIJIN! Grey vinyl is the base on this guy. It's got a wild combo on it with the blue, yellow, silver and red! This time he's got a black base vinyl. The red/orange and yellow really goes great with that base! And the subtle purple stripe on it's back is a nice touch. This is the sunflower yellow version and has a Hawaii Hedorah paint job. This one is really fucking great! I entered for King Smog and Dancheera and scored Dancheera. So stoked to win an Elegab lottery again, as the last few I've entered have been fails.
Managed to grab a Smog King!! Gotta clear some shelf space for that beast Congrats everybody who scored
Latest news: Nari san attended a show recently and sold the latest Kaiju Prince line there (grey vinyl with spray) and each one not only had an omake kaiju boy in the bag, but he did a new lucky lottery where one of the header cards had a winning sticker on the inside with the prize being a one-off painted Oil Shock figure. Sure enough, a day after the show these kaiju prince figures started showing up on Yahoo Japan and Mandarake (for ¥20000). Nari took to Twitter to let off some steam and show his disappointment about flippers, and stated he's probably not going to do any more shows from now on, and just set his focus to online lotteries as he wants his fans to actually get the figures. On the flip side, he immediately started making a new Kaiju Prince figure that I don't recognize and started showing the progress shots. Kaiju Princes seem to be incredibly popular, on Mandarake the GID ones are going for high prices as well.
I wish I had cash when both of the prince gid sets were up. They are his best work yet in my opinion.
I have a specific tab open on my web browser that's just dedicated to images of Elegab minis. I don't know what his sculpting method is but he makes me wanna just break out a chunk of wax and have at it.
I think he'll do more Prince releases in general because they sell much better for him, especially in Asia. I have a feeling that we'll have one more new big figure this year and maybe 2 new Prince groups.
Yeah I'm really hoping that we get pretty much all of the figures done as princes eventually. I'd love to see a Bukiminda Prince more than anything haha
Just picked up my misslerus and monster patrol car from usps. Will post photos but this thing has just been cracking me up. It's so silly and ridiculous I love it
View this post on Instagram Truth be told I didn't know who Elegab even was until my buddy James clued me in and we got him for our last Kaiju Cult. I fell in love and would have picked up a piece from the show but he sold out at the event. Honestly I don't see much Elegab on IG and I don't know why. His paint work is pretty classic and his sculpts are just so fun. Everything is very reasonably priced as well.
kid_miracleman’s post above made me think about what made me fall in love with Elegab and I’m curious to hear what sculpt or release made you an Elegab fan. For me, I’d randomly seen Elegab toys on Instagram, thought they looked interesting so thought I may as well take a crack at a lottery. I won the translucent purple Hedronchaku released in early 2018 and when I got it in hand I was blown away! It was a solid chunk of vinyl, very well priced and the quality, quirkiness, use of beads for guts and little crystal eyes were all so impressive to me. I’ve been enamoured with Elegab ever since and I’m happy to keep throwing my money at everything Nari-san does!
For me it was probably Namira. Nari-san was a part of my toy show last year and he sent this: View this post on Instagram I really liked the little boats on his wings that are also waves. It gives the monster a sense of scale and puts it in the context of the universe it inhabits. And they were pretty damn cheap too! In the era of $800 toys its a welcome change of pace.
For me it was a sky blue Puppet Seijin that Vombie sold me on the forums here. It looked kind of wild and so I took a shot and bought it from him. When it arrived I was completely blown away at just how amazing it was. I had never heard of Elegab before and I immediately went to Nari San's website that was on the header and was floored at the amazing creativity behind the entire Dokuro Tarou line. Hooked for life!
Namira is a wonderful sculpt. You’re spot on about how the boats lend a sense of scale to the monster. Very much like the little cars on Tonneran.
