I was wondering if anyone had more information on these banks. I know they are Finnish designed, and originally from the 70's. I also know they started remaking them. Would love to know more about them, I love the simplicity of the scuplt!

They have been making them for years, I don;t think they ever went out of production. They are in every stationary shop in japan, but are definitely imported. I would try to go straight to the source.

Hi - These elephants were distributed to kids by the swedish bank 'Föreningsbanken' in the 70's. They were designed by MK Tresmer and are still produced in Finland by Norsu. Quite popular in Japan !

you can all sorts of them from http://cheeseandpickles.com.au/ - they will deliver to the US
