Ideal Mini-Monsters: Ideal produced the Mini-Monsters in 1965. Little is known about these baby dolls, which are usually found loose and incomplete. Collectors in later years referred to them as "Baby Munsters," but the toys have nothing to do with the classic Munsters TV show. The 8-inch dolls are named Vampy, Dracky, Franky and Wolfy. Each has a clothing tag marked "Mini-Monster, Japan." The photos below are from the collection of Eduardo Baez.
Funny thing is i give it less than three more posts before some one here knows. The knowledge here is unbelieveable!!
JK, Missy! well, i haven't seen those before. i guess is just matter of time to find one in good condition on the bay. have you tried by looking on other online vintage stores?
not yet, skylar ran across them earlier and was like "oh man, i just saw something i am afraid to show you because you'll want them" and he was so right! haha. Can you recommend some good vintage stores? I actually am usually looking for weird things from the past rather than new stuff most of the time.
a few.. http://www.vintagetoyroom.com/ http://www.gasolinealleyantiques.com/ http://www.timewarptoys.com/ you can try by emailing them.
I have seen them and had a couple in the past (way back about 10 years or more). Very cool little dolls. Mostly missing the accessories but what else is new dealing with Vintage Toys. I have a freind of mine who purchased the Doctor on the Bay a couple of years back and I think he also got the little School Wolf kid complete. They were not cheap - I think he popped almost two bills for one. Kinda rare in complete good condition. And yes yo uare correct - always mistaken for Munsters Collectibles due to the time of their release (mid 1960's) and the similarity to the Characters mainly Lily, Heman and Eddie. Good Luck - Gasoline Alley is a good place to look. Nice people run it - known them for years!
Who knows if it's live, but I thought I'd throw it out... Board seems to be messed up. Click and go to: http://mydeardolly.com/praugue/mdd2.nsf ... enDocument http://mydeardolly.com/praugue/mdd2.nsf ... Format=jpg
lurker, I bet I know the guy that's selling them that you saw. is he kinda old, curly grey hair and glasses? has lots of monster toys in a glass case? we see him all the time, and he has all 3 except the girl, which is the one missy really wants.
