...O.K. 1st - i gotta say a public thanks to my sis + her man for letting me display my weird addiction openly in our share house (i recently moved from the Double Bay Commune to the Lilyfield Lair). 2nd - sorry for the really bad phone pics. Just figured i'd show 'em anyhow. 3rd - this scene is constantly blowing my mind. Great people, easy access to makers and artists. AND here i must give another shout out to all the people who have helped me build my little collection - you know who you are. 4th - this is about 90% of my vinyl + 5% of my 'other' toys. Sadly had to pack many of them away when i moved. BUT they will be revealed eventually. So the pics:
You got some nice color coordination going on, too bad about the bars at the top though blocking some great toys
That green zombie head on bottom shelf of the case on the right appears to have been inspired by the monster on the movie poster for the Orgy of the Living Dead triple bill. Who made that and where the hell can I get one?
These are such awesome displays. There is something compelling about seeing groups of the same figure in different colorways all together, Love the way some of you display and collect by color.
^^^^ ...Guys! HUGE thanks for all the comments, and sorry for my tardy ass-reply. Here goes... ...thanks to my sis letting me keep em in the house common areas, i was able to really focus on layout etc. MAY re-arrange 'em some more. We shall see. I am digging the colour lay-out for the moment though... My eyes just get lost! My old house had toys strewn all over the place (old CD holders, on shelfs, in a book-case etc). LOVE the brown what-not (such a great name for furniture/a shelf in my opinion) i found at the markets for AU $15. Such a great little display, and it all screws apart for ease-of-tansport. ...MAN, just keep yr eyes on the MoonEyes site. They seem to do a new drop each year or so. AND that RatFink was one of the 1st vinyl pieces i got! It's so damn fun. ...Man, it's a mini mask made by Pat Gierhart AKA 'Atomic Vomit'. IF you want to know more, check out his *cough* shameless plug *cough* Art Talk below: http://artwhorecult.com/art-talk-pat-gierhart-atomic-vomit/ ...hahahahaa. Guys. Those bars do annoy the hell outta me. BUT when you get decent glass shelves for free, what can you do?
Awesome collection Josh!! Some nice surprises.. I definitely approve the placement of a couple of toys there
Here's my current collection in its entirety. Ever growing, and my apologies for the severe amount of photos. Spoiler
I put them at the top 'cause those bad boys are top tier!!! I so wish I could display all eight in one row. Definitely my favorite Brains. The Space Barbarian is easily SB's most underrated sculpt, in my opinion. Such a fun figure, and the color combos are mostly unbeatable!
Man these collection shots make me want to break the bank, but ill continue to be patient. Love them all!
My BM collection as of 06-05-14 Not my whole collection but every Bear Model toy i own. Thought it was time for an updated photo . . . .
i would Scrooge McDuck the hell outa that pile o' loot. Very nice Moog. Every time I think targeting sculpts is the way to go, something like this swings me the other way.
