$700 retail is bananas. Welcome to the new normal in 2018. In other news, as noted by @siphilon : A few folks here have the unpainted red Bullmask, but pretty exciting to see one surface in packaging (and with the Gargamess head!). It is not on any of the 'official' checklists, and I don't think we ever really figured out where these came from.
@bryce_r Mandarake I believe these were only given away as special gifts to friends just like the Dokuroman skull bracelets etc. Neat to see it had a package. I know one Japanese guy that has only the Gargamess head in his collection but perhaps a set got split up or shared.
@kichigai Thanks for the insight on the red Bullmask set. Initially, I suspected that it was something of that nature. However, I was looking through old photos of the Thrash-Out store, and I came across a shot of the old fight figure case from 2004. Among the bagged releases in the back of the case was the unpainted red Bullmask with a Gargamess head. Most/all of the bagged figures were production items, so it would surprise me if this were not the case for the red Bullmask. Unfortunately, there are a lot of 'undocumented' Gargamel releases out there- for example, the clear orange Dokudoku figure and clear blue Smoking Corps, which were omitted from the website release list- so this may just be among them. Not new, but for people to appreciate! From @dpattz2005, posted with permission View this post on Instagram since he went private, I'll post this so this isn't a dead post. View this post on Instagram
The dokuroman head bracelets weren't gift exclusive items they were for sale in the pre to early website days (2001-2003 or so). I don't know the origin of this piece specifically but I would guess early lucky bag or Wonderfestival item. Most of their early items were only 30-50 pieces and WF items were not generally offered online so not much is around evidence wise for early jewelry, fight figs or smoking corps. Maybe someone has old WF pics?
Sorry if this sounds stupid, how did you manage to check out? I got the items in my cart, check out using my credit card and they rejected the use of overseas cards and there are no other payment options other then domestic transfer and some other payment methods which i have never heard of, no Paypal.
To add to this... I took the $0 shipping option and Koji dm me last night to pay him additional 20 for shipping. Not sure how the shipping options work, but i thought 0 looked too good to be true.
I think it was June, but they probably got delayed. If you are worried you could hit up AA since it was their pre order.
this was in an email from them when i ordered the kitty and another item back in april: "Because of Gargamel Doranekon is preorder item,we will be ship out at Jun~Aug." so it's not late yet!
I'm happy to see new super punchers and the colors on the Mitari-chans are great! Anyone able to score these? Tried online but all my cards were rejected. Tried multiple VISA and Mastercards. Why can't they use Paypal like everyone else Anyone know the trick? I remember someone used AMEX on chanmen's site but there's got to be other options. I'm not opening an AMEX just for mitari and chanmen stuff. Or maybe I will I wonder if we'll see any of these characters in the LBs
These all look amazing! Too bad it seems we won't have a chance at them in the US. I wish Gargamel would find a retailer in the US. With no conventions schedule, not that I could go to them anyway, there's really no way for Westerners to get new non-custom releases
We had access to them, but passed because the last time we took on Garg figures that weren't lucky bags, no one in the US gave two shits. If people here want to get on board with future Garg drops, I am more than happy to be the conduit. If Le Merde has them, cool. Me thinks Bwana might have them then too...
