Just ordered a copy, sharing a link to the amazon japan page for those interested. If you have never ordered from Amazon Japan you can do so with Buyee, they have a widget you can install and then add items to your buyee cart. https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/47...7305253&sprefix=creators+sofvi,aps,231&sr=8-1
...aaaand temporarily out of stock. @JoeMan, do you (or does anyone else) happen to know what makers are featured in the mook, other than whose work we can see on the cover (if there are others)?
From stories I've seen on instagram, there seem to be tons of people in the book, even if covered very briefly. I'm not sure when I'll have mine in hand, but once I do, I'll post more details.
The book covers Science Patrol, which is how I found out about it: https://twitter.com/Science_Patrols/status/1377073881811324930
Looks to be available still through shops on Rakuten (Buyee or ZenMarket). Here's one possibility: https://buyee.jp/rakuten/detail/book:20322161
This was one image I saw, I'm not familiar with most of these artists, but feel like I've seen their stuff in the Vinyl gallery. But it gives you a sense of what you'll find inside.

Leaving this translation for the Japanese names because for some reason google translate and my phone were not cooperating today and this took longer than expected: Dream rocket Elegab Hinata Takahori Konatsuya LEO Soft Boy Science Patrol GK Sangatsu Honpo Terusa If a domestic retailer picks this up I’ll go after one, but I still don’t trust buyee since ems shipping went away.
I think his stuff is pretty cool, but pricey, which I guess these days is more the norm. I think the giraffe was about 400, but it looks very high quality and the Toys R' Us influence is cool. I like the bunny figure more (dildo omake aside) but that was over 600, but it is actually put together with magnets and it comes apart and it looks like the pieces have pad printing of innards and anatomy on the inside. Pretty cool engineering.
Both the giraffe and rabbit(especially) are pretty rad, but those prices are all sort of bananas. I’m curious to the contents of this book, but I don’t find payin’ equal shipping to the book itself very enticing. Hopefully somewhere in the US might get a stack to sell!
Whereas I've literally just paid $25 shipping on a $15 magazine and was happy to do so! Sofubi is dead. Long live print!
Both that giraffe and rabbit look like something kid robot would have put out in 2008. They have too much of a Ron English/kozik/Bob’s Big Boy/wannabe loony toons look to them. Magnets or no.
@Anti Social Andy I’ve done worse with price and shipping, so I think you’re right in the “happily doing so” mentality. I just might have to cave and snatch one up! @hellopike I am admittedly still a fan of some of Kozik’s older designs in western vinyl, but I also like a lot of the early 2000’s street figures that were comin’ out of Hong Kong and Japan. Both the rabbit and giraffe ring in both vibes for me, but I can easily see where it’s off putting to most.
