Hey all! Started work on making a toy a little under two years and finally have test shots, so I've posted to Insta and figured I should probably post here too. The character is called The Bruiser, with alternate heads being called The Champion and The Wizard. For release info and to get more shots of the sculpting process, gimme a follow @dna.toy.
Fantastic sculpts and great character presentation, dude! Lookin’ like a heavyweight entry into the fight figure space, but also standing on its own outside the genre of toy. Can’t wait to see more photos of vinyl and eventually painted releases!
Thanks for the kind words Robert! I wanted to make something kind of adjacent to Fight Figs but a little bigger and meaner. I'm also anxiously awaiting in hand vinyl so I can actually paint and post them!
Appreciate that! I'd like to do releases of them as their own separate characters so the hope was they'd stand on their own!
These are gnarly!! They’re not #&@%ing around! Last head in the line up is my favorite but all are BADASS!
View this post on Instagram Hey all, it's been a minute since I've posted. Figured I should let those that care that the first release lotto is up though!
(This is a late response, whoops.) But glad to hear it! We have a bunch more releases planned for the near future, so there should be plenty to go around.
Shit I don’t think I realized @612DudeCrew was you either! Congrats on the initial release. Bummed I didn’t have luck on the lotto, but I’ll try again!
I won't say too much and spoil the surprise, but safe to say y'all will be happy with this next wave.
Okay, so after finally gettin’ my Bruiser, Champion and Wizard in hand I can say that they’re all pretty great! Right away both the Bruiser and Champion give me Pushead, though that’s purely comin’ from a spectator of his toys and not a collector. The Wizard very much makes me think of the hooded demons in Hell from the movie As Above, So Below. I’d previously mentioned that this toy looked to be a heavyweight contender in the fight figure space, and it certainly is, but in hand I now feel it’s more of a shared space as opposed to bein’ classified as such, that statement bein’ far from a bad thing. And I only go this route because of the size, somewhat akin to how I’ve seen RxH(think Chaos/Mutant). Even still, it does look great against Ggml fighters and pairs very, very nicely with Skullbrain’s own Blk Clvd and the Kvltvs fight figures! There’s some nice detail in the muscular curves, battle damage and the wrist locks and hands! Lookin’ forward to some painted versions and new colors down the road! Oh, and psst. The header is pretty goddamn rad, and I don’t even know how/what was done for it! Bruiser The Wizard(my favorite) The Champion Spoiler
