I believe it was the last page from his latest, Crashpad. He's ended lots of his collections with similar lists, though.
Liking the first single off the upcoming Author & Punisher album. The fact that the album is inspired by Octavia Butler's Parable books make me even more excited for the full album
Thanx, wasn't hip to that one yet. Checking out pages, he definitely riffs a bunch on Rory Hayes in there, and Moscoso, too, especially with those color bleeds. Also riffs the Oracle, hippie mag out of SF back when, same color bleeding (they also used essential oils in the ink, changed the oils for reprints). Neat stuff at that Hippietrip show, too. Yer probably aware, he and wife Nicole were friends with PKD; several photos out there of Phil wearing his ROZZ-TOX tshirt. https://miro.medium.com/max/1400/1*fqN2jb-xjUUH6DBcWp0qmQ.jpeg What did the hippie say when his friends told him he couldn't crash on their couch any more?
^That is a good one. Great label, especially the Demdike Stare and Pendle Coven stuff, which you're probably already familiar with. Today is apparently "A" day. These two stood out: http://www.annealockwood.com/compositions/a-sound-map-of-the-housatonic-river/ Annea Lockwood - "A Sound Map of the Housatonic River is a four-channel sound installation; it is an aural tracing of the river from its sources in the Berkshires, Massachusetts, to Long Island Sound, Connecticut. Each recorded site is located on a wall map with a number. Beside the map is the corresponding number, followed by the time at which that site can be heard, the place name, and where the recording was made. The installation was commissioned by the Housatonic River Museum, a project in development in Berkshire County, Massachusetts." and the entire Afro Drumz album, 'Folklore', on El Santuario Records, this track the fave here:
Blacksmoke - The future Sound of Mu Mu. Blacksmoke's Jimmy Cauty out of the KLF + friends. Get Mumufied!!! Ramin Djawadi's soundtrack for the first season of Westworld, with several interesting covers that wink at the action on screen.
I’ve been listening to a lot of Jawbreaker today, mainly their Dear You LP. I scored tickets this morning to see them in April, the last time I saw them was at CBGB‘s about 30 years ago. Here’s one of my favorite songs from that album.. The Descendants are opening up for them which is fucking killer! It’s going to be such a fun night.
Been into a Volatile Ways A LOT lately. Simpler death metal influence with solid slam riffs and some great vocals, out of Australia. Took a chance with a band from Sweden, solely based off the band name and album art. Horned is an odd mixture of occasional black metal riffs and heavy slam breakdowns with very beatdown styled vocals. A fun listen no matter what.
So I found this band and was pretty blown away. It's like the Primus "Antipop" album condensed into one band.
Cauldron. Metalcore from Birmingham, UK. Took a chance on the band/album name and was VERY pleasantly surprised. This album also happened to be released on my birthday in 2020.
Been listening to Ternion Sound lately.. These motherfuckers go HARD! Here’s a set they played at red rocks last year:
If you’re a fan of death metal and slam, I highly recommend checking out Skullbrain OG Scott McGrath’s label Maggot Stomp. He’s been puttin’ on a lot of really, really bad ass, heavy bands. Vomit Forth Sentenced 2 Die 200 Stab Wounds Tribal Gaze Fulci Ritual of Decay Church of Disgust Those are just some of the bands out of a massively heavy lineup. Big ups to the dude that got me into Obake Dogs and schooled me on BxH shining light on some phenomenal bands.
