    Howdy,

This has been brought up before, but are there any lau collectors on this board? I'm really feeling those futura/womax figs that were just released. I'm probably gonna pick em up...anyone else?

I think the grand Scary Andy collects Lau figs.

I like Lau somewhat, but haven't pulled the trigger on any of his stuff (mostly due to cost).

can you post pics of your collection again to inspire us? :D

not home...leaving for mammoth mountain for the weekend. I've never posted pics of my collection either...hmmm. Does it even exist?

I only have like 8 pieces of his.

ANYONE HAVE THE LEGS FOR THE MR. LAU MYSTERY FIGURE?

I have only a few pieces, and 5 of the six Tom Kids - those are by far my favorite Lau figures - so nicely made by Dragon, each one a custom size, super articulated, and with a satisying ratchetted posability to them.

Got me a signed Clockwork Orange shoe when I was lucky enuf to meet Mr Lau at an opening at DPHMI in London in 2005.

The new 3300 releases are the first for a long while that have struck the right note.

The Pointmen aren't officially endorsed by Futura but definitely a homage to . . . they tie in real nice to the Future (Futura 2000) and Womax (James Lavelle: Mo'Wax head honcho) mini Gardeners released at the same time.

Also released a collaboration with Prodip. 4 colours of an alien being featured in a forthcoming film project.

The Maharishi variants of 'em all kill!

. . . . all waaaay more interesting than the Mr Shoe, Nike, World Cup, corporate endorsed pap he was startin' to churn out!

Still on the slow boat heading to the UK! :(

I picked a set of legs up for $25.00 off eBay a coupla weeks back.

Oddly enough a couple of CAT figures (which the mystery part came with) turned up with real low starting prices at the same time . . . probably be worthwhile buying the CAT figure and offloading it cheap without the mystery part!

Lau lost me for a while. I didn't care for the new York Fat series or the Box like figures.

But these new ones...awesome. I'll definitely grab a couple.

There's something almost Barry McGee like about the alien figure.

I've got some Lau too... just picked up the yellow NY Fat/Tatoo set. It comes in a metal spray can box too...I kind of lost interest when Mr. Shoe and the football guys came out. But the new ones might bring me back :)

I think I recognize a few names here from the old Ningyoushi Michael Lau forum. CrazyNews has been pretty good with new release info but doesn't seem to have the same traffic or following of the Ningyoushi days.

The lull between Gardener releases left me to take on a new Secret Base addiction but I definitely agree that the Future and Womax releases got me excited again.

The Future Pointman chase is definitely one of my new favorites.

Blowing the dust off this one; used to collect Lau, mostly the cardboard package figures. Gone with the wind, those. Does anybody still collect Lau cardboard box figures? Kind of miss 'em.

Don’t collect Lau’s work but have always been fond of his style. Hope y’all found your mystery pieces, et al.

Did the KR board die or something?

Nah just curious about the big all cardboard mystery figure; one piece of it was included with each of the regular figures. It was a bugger to collect. Actually gave my Lau stuff to an impoverished Lau collector art student years ago. And yes, it seems the KR board died quite a while ago, hadn't noticed 'til I went looking for something else recently.

Still have a lot of love for the earlier Lau, not so much the newer stuff.

Used to have all the cardboard box dudes strung and stickered up but sold 'em years ago to help fund a Japan trip.

Still have a shit ton in storage and it might be time for a rotation in the cabinets. Gauche HxS out . . . OG Lau and Jarvis back in! :D

Picking up the original Silas Martin from a lil' long gone local skateshop around 30 years ago is what gotten me into this junk.

    Still have it!

    Speaking of dust,
There wasn't much going on at Skullbrain, and my "WTB" thread was spicy because I had Michael Lau figures in there (still do). Didn't think there would be a thread on here!

Really liked Lau's sculpture and art. Some of the actual vinyl seemed to be problematic. Anyway, there's a guy, about 30 now, wandering around the twin cities with either a huge Michael Lau collection or a sad "used to have" story. Never thought that this stuff would dry up like that. Of course, I thought that all the Secret Base, Real Head and Gargamel classics would show up again one day too. I also thought that tanning beds were never going to last...
