Slingshot Supply Co. is UK native Niall, aka Tru:tek, aka @shingangu via Instagram. I bring his new line to this part of the forum, as the UK is in the Western part of Europe, and this is for Western artists. This line of toys started with the Garga Fink fight figure, and has been in the making for two and a half years. Finally debuting at DCon 2022, Slingshot brought six toys to offer collectors with something familiar, but fun, and with a lot of clean style. From the cute, to fight figures, to vintage troll homages, to gachapon, there’s a little something for everyone. With the obvious Ed Roth influence at the forefront it’s also easy to see where Gargamel plays a major inspirational role in the Garga Fink. The Lucky Fink scratches that nostalgic itch with the 60’s Treasure Troll body, and the Gamuboru Fink, both large and small, tickles the mysterious fancy of the gachapon machine. This is a very fun toy line with a lot of thought and precision in its execution. I’m thoroughly excited for Niall to finally bring these characters to the hands of collectors and I can’t wait to see what’s in store next.

All great but so much to to love about that clear green with guts Lil Franky, Garga Fink. The shots really show it off.

 

@GERMS Clear with guts fight figures are what got me interested in sofubi to begin with! Plush guts for the win! So awesome to see a total callback to the presentation, and done so damn well.

 

Niall is an absolute treasure. This line is so well conceived and rolled out and I’m beyond excited to see people responding so well to it.

 

It was my best surprise at DCON. It wasn't in the budget initially but I made sure to grab one because I couldn't miss out on such a fun toy.

 

you know i was literally wondering yesterday why there wasn't a thread on this yet.

 

I had no idea this is Tru:tek!! I also broke my budget to grab the pop-eyed frankie, too good to control myself.

 

I usually make it a point to ask artists that don’t have dedicated threads here if they wouldn’t mind my creating one. I’d asked Niall a little over a week ago, but he’s been so damn busy, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to go ahead. It’s definitely worth highlighting and discussing here.

 

Shingangu, aka Niall is talented beyond words. He helped cast up my Natives keshi and is always eager to help you. I'm personally mad at myself for not knowing about this release!

 

@MisterYuck I’m pretty certain there’ll be much more to come in terms of releases to look out for. So keep those peepers peeled like fresh grapes!!!

got my package in yesterday. Niall the amount of thought and planning for this line is so insane and shines through the finished product. I AM STOKED to see what comes next. love the booklet and bandana added in too... you really lit it up from the jump of Slingshot Supply Co.!

 

oooo! whats the booklet like? He gave me a bandana (and a slingshot uh.. shot!) , I think because I was all 'DAMN DUDE!!' amazed at the eye pop.

 

The current four releases of Slingshot that are landing into collectors’ homes! The new Uncle Fez fighter is insanely fuckin’ cool and the yellow/blue colorway is super underrated! The tri - eyes and grimacing grin have that much more chaotic Rat Fink look, always reminds me of White Zombie band tees. Nice, subtle illuminati pyramid embedded into the back of the head, as well. The textures in the face are so bubbly. I love it.

I got to meet Niall this weekend at Mikee’s 50/50 show this weekend, what a cool dude to talk toys with. So gracious and knowledgeable about hobby. Everyone who made it out got an opportunity to see some of the new stuff he’s got coming down the pipeline… if you love fight figures, he’s going to blow your mind.

 

If you’re not following Slingshot by chance, but maintain interest in what Niall’s been producing, I got you! Firstly, the debut of Uncle Fez DX in classic Ed Roth green and red. Here you get what you’d come to know and love with the standard UF in blue and yellow, only this time the DX comes with a fun, lil’ surprise underneath the fez itself: “YOU SNAKE” and a snake donning its own fez hat itself! Such a fun detail!

Also making its debut, the second installment of the Garga Fink DX in a Phantom version. The name and the colors should speak for itself, but goddamn, is this a great colorway!!!

And now for some hometown pride with ToyCon UK exclusive! Clear Gamuboru DX with Union Jack plush guts! This clear blue vinyl is stunningly warm. And even though a handful of these have made it to collectors across the globe, including stateside, it’s great to see Niall represent some roots in a release.

Did anyone here besides me get lucky with the dissected gargafink release? I got to see a prototype of it back during the 50/50 show in Albuquerque and it was great in its unfinished form- I can’t wait to see it done!

 

Please post once it arrives! Not my style of toy, but concept is great and would love to see a picture in hand.

 

I got lucky this time. The promo photos look great. Struck a big nostalgia chord with me, so I had to go for it.

 

For the sake of visual clarity. This one was really fun to capture and really highlight the clear half without losing detail. Everyone that got their ticket pulled is going to be very, very happy.
