Paul Pope releasing his new book Finding out about new movies Getting tons of sketches from various artists Meeting the world famous Muton for the second time and seeing his Simpsons Vans.
absolutely!! - artist signings (sketches ) - comics I don't know about - Gaiman movie previews - original comic art
im excited about having a seizure, and blowing my entire savings probably. comics and toys are my life, and this is the first chance ive gotten to attend sdcc.
SDCC is the greatest show on earth my friend! Aside from the huge crowds, long lines, SD heat, its the best place in the world! I love it. I hope you have an awesome time! And see you everyone who can make it at nerdquake! we'll pour a 40 on the side walk for those of us who can't make it
-Fish Tacos from Tin Fish -Original Art -Sketchbooks -California weather -Watchmen panel -BSG, 24, Lost (conflicts with Pushead event ARGHH) panels
yeah... i'm pissed they moved Lost to thurs. afternoon well at least 24 doesn't seem to conflict with anything. oh yeah, and the heroes one also hopefully i can squeeze in a showing of:
-possible press pass this year -getting invited to some sweet parties where I can schmooze - so far I got invited to some party apparently for the upcoming 300 DVD release or something where they are supposed to re-enact scenes from the film??? more to come I hope -hopefully getting some writing work out of it, perhaps some interviews maybe -making fun of the weirdos in costume -maybe meeting Olivia Munn from G4 and trying not to drool
Meeting people, people, people! Getting some more sketches in my sketch book - without being weird or pushy about it. Seeing amazing artists (like Berni Wrightson) sitting there with no one even coming near them. Standing in multiple lines simultaneously. Meeting Lokash again and looking sheepish cos I won't be rockin' my Vans.
hey, no one mentioned the fist fights! SDCC is where all board disputes are settled in person! Two men enter, one man leaves....
At last year's NYCC i sat there and shot the shit with Ken Kelley for a good long time, dude has done so much and not a damn person at his booth. The S7 Article on the Micronauts art let me know what was up, then it turns out he did the Kiss Destroyer cover as well as my favorite album with my favorite cover of all time... So I bought a print! SCORE!
Yeah, finally met the man at a KISS convention. Not too many people at his booth either. I think it was the only redeeming thing about going. He's like a walking Frazetta and people are clueless. You should see his Godzilla paintings if you get a chance.
