I don't know but had the impression that this is the same person as "Now With Kung Fu Grip" on eBay ?
looks like they are in japan... says under "shipping info" on the site that everything is posted EMS from japan... stupid prices...are they serious??
It is. I believe his name is Simon Hunt. I used to get Kubrick's from him before he became flipper supreme.

Yup, thanks for the confirmation. http://stores.ebay.com/knunt Heh heh $95 for the sunglow mini docross. Puh leeze.
Simon is his name. Sometimes he does give fair prices, but not on the site. Usually contact him and SOMETIMES he will make a deal. But only twice with me on some cronic and 1 rxh item.
concentrated efforts to inflate the marketplace do work. prices all around are affected by the fictitious inflation of merchandise. and they all go up because of it. not to the absurd height listed on this guy's site, but still up. i think he's employing this kind of psychology as that Docross mini on his site is now $60, while on eBay he has the same toy listed for $95
I've been able to find things from him of the Cronic variety in the past which have saved me headaches. I believe he bids on items from YJA which he then flips, I can't recall 100% but I think Shuaho444 or something similar is his ID. He once beat me in an auction I was bidding through Celga on, then privately emailed me offering the same item he had just won for a $50 increase
Just curious ... why did the question of this site's owner come up? I know it's easy to rag on flippers, but ... I can't figure out the basis for charging $260.00 for the green RxH Shintosan. Another eBay flipper hasn't been able to sell one for $200.00 for two months, and there doesn't appear to be a huge demand for that colorway. Seems weird unless I'm missing some factor.
because.. the last thing you want is someone to be a dealer who isn't an official dealer. sorta like fine art where it's galleries that buy stuff up and own everything so they can artificially inflate the prices to protect their investments and maximize profit. (at least that's what i think)
Well that's a perfectly good answer! I guess I was suspicious that maybe they did something "wrong" or something like that to pique ramos' attention. No biggie.
I was just curious to know who it is. I was hoping it would be a long time message board rat rather than a vulture only buying things to sell based on message board posts. When I saw the site it bummed me out.
I got about halfway through a deal with him and he vanished, up until that point, he seemed pleasant enough. His expense I was willing to ignore because he had what I wanted and on occasion, you have to accept that loss...
His name is indeed Simon. Most people who have collected Kubricks in the past are familiar with him. His handle at jedidefender.com is "He's no good to me dead." His posts there, from what I remember, were always informative and very cordial. In fact he is generally known as a pretty good guy. His prices for kubrick stuff were always fair and he shipped everything promptly and well packaged. The problem with his new site is that he is a bit out of his element. He seems determined to become a legitimate toy retailer- I believe this is his only form of income- however he is not as knowledgeable about the neo-kaiju product that he is now selling. I know this because he has pm'd/emailed me in the past asking for info on such and such sculpts/artists etc. So prices can be all over the board. But that's not to say he is not a fan. He has a huge sb collection and seems to be generally psyched about some of his pickups. So in the end I have to admit I like the guy. I probably have had a hundred or so transactions in the past with him and he has made good on every one of them. On occasion he has emailed me when he was going shopping in Tokyo and has offered to pick up stuff at cost, and shit like that.
Yeah, now that you mention it, I recall him seeming quite unsure and getting certain details wrong. Again, I agree, he offered to quite happily keep an eye out for certain things for me as well, so I was a bit confuzzeled when he just kinda cut out on a deal halfway through. But yeah, aside from that he seemed really solid.
Don't know about his knowledge, but I too have had good dealings with him. His packaging and communication are great. Fairly quick turn around, also.
I wonder if he saw or was tipped off to this thread? Some of his prices at the site have been lowered.
