Man, so awesome. Still can't find these guys, the negative effect really knocks em dead.......DEAD...GET IT....ugh
ive wanted to necropost in this thread forever, and now i finally can. 7 years later, i have these in my possession again. i was an idiot collector back in the day, and traded these away for an original dehara clay figure. i thought to myself "i can always find these hino toys again, they made more than one, and im getting original art." boy was i wrong. regret set in a year later, and then the hunt began. i checked yahoo japan nearly every day when i had the time, hoping to come across these toys again. i found one 2 years ago, but the seller was shill bidding and it got out of control. then more searching ensued, i annoyed a few members here and on flickr who have at least one (sorry liquidsky) and came up empty handed. flashback to last month, i found both of them, at reasonable prices. with the help of an awesome friend (and his celga gold account haha) we secured them. and at the same price that i pad for them 7 years ago (give or take 20 dollars) anyway- patience pays off. and it helps to have an awesome community filled with people who dont mind giving a helping hand. never give up the hunt, and this just procves that you can find something if you search hard enough. happy hunting everyone
That's a great story michael. Even though I don't collect these I see the appeal. The darker one I remember liking when I saw pics a long time ago. It's great when you have regrets about selling something and finally re-find it years later (and can be had at a decent price!). This happened to me with a M1 rainbow GID Rodan. You won't make the same mistake twice right? LOL.
yeah, i won't be making the same mistake twice with these guys. These toys were the only regrets ive ever had selling toys from my collection. these are going to the grave with me. they are freed from the bags and fitting in well with my other Hino toys: there are a few others im missing, but im in no rush. Hideshi Hino is my favorite artist and main inspiration with the art i make. these toys go well with my original splash page from one his books as well! feel free to post any Hino toys you have- i never tire of seeing them.
Great story Michael. I can see why you are so attracted to Hino. I Only have one of his figures, the Bug Boy, but I have also been searching for more.
I love the ones i have but the others seem extremely hard to find . . . i do look regularly. If i ever get a chance to grab a few more i wont hesitate! Yep! I think Ricky got an one-day license for Wonder Fest 2013? if I remember correctly there was a sample on display at the Lulubell booth at ComicCon. Found it... This was Rickys version. Is that the same as above?
Didn't know this Hell Baby. Thanks for the pics. There's a big smiling worm too. I'll post a picture of my collection soon.
You mean this one? Great photos from everyone! Michael's group shot is one of my all time favourites. Ricky's take on Hell Baby is very nice indeed, looks a lot angrier than the other version.
That red BG REALLY sets those creepy eyes blazin'. Cool figure, hoping for another edition next round.
