Nearly pooped when I saw this lucky bag:

I've seen Lucky Bag stuff around for a while -- by the looks of these bags they're all kinda like the "mystery bag" crap you find in stores where you pay a few bucks for something without knowing what's in the sack.

Do the companies (like Pilot Ace above) announce that they're doing Lucky Bag sales (or drawings)? Or is it something more rare, like a coupon deal?

Any info on Lucky bags is appreciated and man, if anyone knows how to get the above Lucky Bag set from Pilot Ace PLEASE let me know :D

Lucky Bags are usually sold at special events or conventions.

They're especially lucky for the sellers, because it lets them recoup their costs on test shots. ;p

Kaiju toy Lucky Bags are a little different from retail store mystery bags.

They're usually announced in advance. Depending on the manufacturer the contents are either 100% the same (aside from whether or not yours includes a ticket for one of the special super-rare lottery prizes), same figures but color variants, or a really random mix between figures/color variants.

hahah -- yeah Joe, I saw that you had some of the parts for the set. When i saw the whole thing that came with the bag I think I had a heart attack -- so much good vinyl in one giant clear bag! From a seller's perspective having those individual would make more sense -- so finding out more info on the Lucky Bag stuff (from a buyer's standpoint) was something that I needed to do.

I don't think there's any way to insure getting one outside of standing in line at a toy show or store in Japan

This seems like a fairly new thing. It used to be common for LBs to be sold at shows (not all shows, but often) throughout the year. It's only the past couple (three?) years I've seen companies doing New Years Lucky Bag.

M1 did a Lucky Bag back at Feb Wonder Festival that had a bunch of unpainted figs.
