http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2josUqMTUmE&NR=1 holy shit! Just call me a record collector from now on.
Those kids are fucking up the turntables! Wow. I hardly ever hear good scratching anymore and to see 2 kids younger than 10 just owning the wheels of steel - all I can say is thanks!
But are they scratching japanese produced beats? Or were their backing tracks laid down on vinyl here making them American DJ's? Great questions.
wow. that's rediculous. I want to see a full shot of all the records they have. And I wonder what their dad does?
does it really matter where the beats come from? on one of the vids where it's just DJ Sara, they use part of Planet Rock. For those that don't know, Planet Rock came out in the early to mid 80's from Afrika Bambaataa and the Soul Sonic Force. That song is still awesome to this day......ahhhh...I feel so old now.
Those beats are vintage, dating back to the earliest specimens of Homo sapiens roughly 250,000 years ago. So they're African.
I love how bored the boy looks. he's like "uh, I have to do all this awesome scratching again?! but Pokemon is on!"
sick video.. haven't seen just great scratching in a long time. almost a lost art nowadays. great to see young kids mastering it and keepin it alive.
The vid that Pogue linked is the best one, imo. It's kinda funny. The kids stand there and crack a smile like something evil is coming, the music plays and they start bopping around and all of a sudden....
