I love the Gazura but doing 5 black base versions with a 1 color difference isn't exactly imaginative. My hype for the DR/KT collaboration has gone meh... I expect much more from dream rocket's standards.
I was sort of put off by the mono-color design, but sometimes less is more. This reminds me of the fluorescent pinstriped Zyurais, in a way. I couldn't decide. I'm getting the pink and green. The blue was a close runner-up.
Anyone who pops up their Izod Lacoste collar loses all cool points, instantly. There are still times when pink is wrong. Anyway, I love these schemes. Nice to see older sculpts revived lately.
I was about to pull the trigger on all of em....then I re-gained my senses and realized in time that I didn't have a majic bag where I could pull out money whenever I wanted Don't you just hate that when it happens?! Blue and orange one for me I guess
The thought flitted across my mind for a few seconds. And then I realized that this is Vol. 1. And there are four Monster File sculpts (Gazura, Gumos, Gilmos, Balbagon) And I don't know if I want 20+ Dream Rocket figures in the next four months. Well, I do want them. But, you know...
Did anybody see the pics on KT? Looks unfinished.. I mean they didn't even bother to paint the eyes! These give off that "rush job" vibe. I donno If I'm picking up any at all now. I think I'd rather pick one o these up. It be bout time too http://super7store.com/store/detail.php?item_id=4406
Too late, the shipping invoices are here. Well, these don't seem to have flown off the shelves. If anyone is on the fence, I'll try and take some photos when my two arrive.
Weird, some guy from Japan has the whole set of these up on the bay for cost. Guess he didn't like them.
What I don't understand is why KT choose Gazura in the first place. Had that been Balbagon or the Doguma I'd have bought all five colorways just cause I love the sculpt that much. Gazura is cool an all but the paint app just leaves me wanting.
1. I wish they had painted the eyes. 2. The tusks are matte black, where the rest of the body is glossy. This is kind of strange. 3. Parts of the body have a light silvery spray over the black, which looks really good. Overall, I'm not disappointed, but I wonder if they're going to continue this style for the remaining 3 Monster File sculpts.
I just got a set in, and I just thought I'd add to this. I love the Matte tusks, I think it's a nice touch. You can't get a good impression from the photos. The Silver is used very subtly and to a nice effect. I thought the fluorescents looked a little crude from the photos, but you don't see the silver in there which holds it together. Overall, I'm once again impressed.
