I agree. I know absolutely nothing about these figures. They remind me of that Planet Earth episode with "creatures of the deep".
Now you've done it... just when I thought I could sneak another one in, she sees this... So after the comments about mental health and kinda creepy I have about ZERO chance of adding another to the herd. But then again, there are one or two that border on cute, not saying they really are, but close enough.... hmmmmm Thanks for the great shots. Nicest collection I've seen in a while.
Thanks for the compliments, guyce! Ha...well, sorry to hear that, SM! Do you just mean adding to your kaiju herd...or do you have your own Gara-herd, too? And I'm curious...was it my mental health being discussed, or yours? Or was it playdohpunk's Cindy Sherman comparison that inspired the comments? Hey, nothing wrong with my mental health- why, for proof, you need look no further than last Saturday morn, when I laid on my belly in the snow, waiting for the sun to be just right to take a close-up picture of a tiny toy based on a character from a 1965 Japanese TV show......oh... waitaminute.......
Actually, Tohl Narita, who did the original design sketches for Garamon, took inspiration from the look of the scorpionfish. This is the third time somebody has mentioned Planet Earth to me this week. I still haven't seen it...gotta bump it up in the queue....
Fun pages at Jim-Bob Wan's on a couple of the pieces I've shown here: the Kaiyodo Garamon: http://www.jimbobwan.com/art63.htm ...and the Atelier G-1/Medicom collab figure: http://www.jimbobwan.com/art71.htm
Didn't want to start a whole new thread for these...but here, by request, are some clear shots of the Yamanaya Garamon family all together (they moved outta the Detolf into a new neighborhood, recently)...
that said it all......... not much to add to that.............. Dynamite collection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bear Model Gary checks out his new hometown in Vermont.... Snow squall! Streets of VT are a bit different than that of his previous home, NYC... Alright, you're making me nervous, dude...please come down from there... See?! I toldja! Good thing that snowbank was there! (This is really what happened...he fell off that branch and landed just like this...couldn't have set up a better shot if I tried!)
best phot i have seen in a long time that garamon and his expression he look sad happy and pissed all at the the same time just wondering is that the only thing you collect is garamon
Amazing photo's (love the cave shots, very eerie) Really like seeing the difference in peoples collections and what figures they focus on. You truly live in a winter wonderland. Please keep updating this thread with your new photos and acquisitions. Thanks for sharing Ungawa222.
pics totally out of this world - crazy!!! feel touched by enthusiasm & "love for the sport" captured in these fotos. ...keep it up!
Thanks for the kind words, everyone- really glad to know you enjoy these! That is indeed a custom garadama- done by Koji Harmon. I do wish Yamanaya would re-release that figure again, in another exciting colorway or two- it is such a great sculpt. Well, I invite you to stay tuned to this thread...I should have a big update soon: after a long quiet spell, I have nine new Gara-pieces coming in soon! I'm going to wait until they're all here and then try some interesting group shots.
Will do, g! In the incoming batch of Gara-toys, three of them are US TOYS pieces. I already have two of their minis. I'll take some pics of the whole family of five once they're all here!
