aw man... super bummed never got to see him live.. always meant to. was a genious A publicist for George Carlin says the legendary comedian has died of heart failure at a hospital in Santa Monica, Calif. Jeff Abraham says Carlin went into St. John's Health Center on Sunday afternoon, complaining of chest pain. Carlin died at 5:55 p.m. PDT. He was 71. Carlin, who had a history of heart trouble, performed as recently as last weekend at the Orleans Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas. It was announced Tuesday that Carlin was being awarded the 11th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The dean of counterculture comedians, Carlin constantly pushed the envelop with his jokes, particularly with a routine called "The Seven Words You Can Never Say On TV."
I was fortunate enough to see him years ago. Although I don't have the proper accoutrement I'll always remember that "it's okay to prick your finger but don't finger your prick." RIP Mr. Carlin.
RIP saw him live a whole bunch he was one funny bastard love the tirade he goes through opening and closing a show
I took my dad to see George Carlin a few years back at the Comedy Store in Hollywood. It was a warm up for his HBO Special, "You are all Diseased" This is a great loss to entertainment and the comedy world. R.I.P. You sick clever old bastard!
"Pussyfoot.....I love those open toed shoes, you're wearing." "Why is it called taking a dump? I don't want to take a dump, I want to leave a dump." He was truly an innovator. Heaven is a funnier place now. RIP Genius.
"Anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac." Gonna miss you George...
One of my very favorites. I'll miss him. Though he had lots of insightful quotes (some which didn't even involve the 7 words) I still love his all purpose cheer: Rat shit, Bat Shit, Dirty ol’ twat 69 assholes tied in a knot, Hooray! Lizard shit! Fuck! Rest In Peace, my favorite fuckin' foulmouth.
Ive seen a lot of great comedians and I now regret that I cannot say I saw George Carlin before he died. He was a funny man and he played so close to my house more than once, for those who saw him you are truly lucky. He was the man and for anyone who has not and wants a fun fast summer read go pick up "When Will Jesus Bring the PorkChops" its great.
