Anyone here bidding on the PK Goga on ebay? Wow! The price has already gone over $700.00 Still in high demand, Is this a bit insane?? Maybe I should start selling mine
Sorry... almost forgot, I thought I saw some PK Gogas for sale not too long ago on the For Sale boards here
if you're selling, I can save you shipping costs! I wish Anraku would make a Goga for Dummies, strictly limited to 7,000 pieces.
When I get that Kidney transplant their all yours More mini Gogas would be nice for the folks who don't wish to shell out too much... Or are they worth more than the larger ones?
yes that is a board member here. and yes that PK goga is one of my most favorite pieces in my collection, so in my eyes it's priceless. $700 is a deal. it should be a lot higher than that.
Heh, no sweat... just a friendly warning. Please tell me that it isn't true that people were selling their PK Gogas here (and I missed out!) BTW, if you guys don't mind saying... how much did PK charge for the Gogas?
no PK gogas were sold here. as for the price question I don't remember. that's not an insane bid either. I think whomever is bodding on that will be super happy and it's a gorgeous and impossible to find figure.
I'm willing to shell out, but $700+ is beyond me (at this point)! I think a mini Goga would just make me want a full-size one even more. Still, a man can dream...
Mini gogas are almsot impossible to find. they're completely different types of figures with intricate paint apps. I have the green mini set and had the blobpus mini goga for a while, but either way you're going to have a tough time tracking these down for cheap. This is one of those moments where all I can say is forge strong friendships and be good collectors and the good karma comes back to you. I feel that this will be ignored, but honestly that is how I have obtained a lot of my anraku. Also remember that anraku is one of those lines that is highly sought after in Japan. You're dealing with a whole different group of people with a different mindset than collectors of other new Japanese toy lines. Some of these collectors think nothing of dropping $700 on a goga. And look at that...it ended just under $1200
It is a gorgeous piece, Yeah.. I can't recall if I had seen one for sale could have been the standard non painted orange It's now $760.00 I don't think I could ever shell out that much dough..although If I was wealthy
Yeah, no question if the Goga is worth it or not, because it totally looks like it is, and like you said atease, Anraku stuff is at a whole different level of collecting... it's just that, like TLK, I'm not prepared (yet!) to shell out $700+ on a kaiju.
thanks for the perspective, atease. I'm aware of how few Anraku toys are out there in total compared with other lines, and the quality is unmistakeable. I don't get excited about unpainted protos or whatever, but for a Goga, I'd drop that kind of money if I had it.
my post was definitely meant to be helpful and not arrogant at all. i think what is really important is to learn a lot about the line of toys that you like. right now what i see on the board, and I'm not singling anyone out at all, is an instantaneous desire to have everything you see with no effort at all. Asking questions is awesome, using the search is invaluable, and doing some research before posting 100 threads asking people to find things for you makes this hobby a billion times more rewarding. I can't tell you how many nights I've spent camped in front of my computer at 3 in the morning doing translations. I've also made some lifelong friends here as a result of being into anraku, and those connections always help in this hobby. A lot of people ask "How do you get it?". It's all about making and finding friends who help and love these toys as much as you. I hope all of this hippy love in blather helps someone out.
That post should be sent to every new member on the board and memorized. If it weren't for people with equal passion for these figures combined with countless obsessive searching and translating I'd have never gotten half the toys I have and further more I'd not have had nearly as much fun doing so. If I had the money I'd go nuts to get that Goga, but real life doesn't allow it. Killer toy.
On another note...its also possible that what makes it "sought after" is the recognition of how awesome PK's paint work on this ultra cool toy. I mean, a blank Goga would not go as high....probably be lesser in value, no?
Hey guys that goga on ebay was my sale-made me absolutely sick to have to sell it but i lost my job a while back and have had to sell a lot to make ends meet. Its an absolutely beautiful job on it by PK and whoever won it is getting a great figure.
Sorry to hear that... I know it's always hard to let go of any Goga, especially PK custom. Congratulations on your sale though!
bittersweet john...i hope you guys are all doing ok and i hope this helps out a bit. we miss your banter...
