I think some people noted the resemblance of Shikaruna's Gehju Gaezal to Harryhausen's Cyclops monster... Well, Pilot Ace will actually release a sofubi of the Cyclops itself at next Wonderfestival: http://www.pilot-ace.co.jp/syosai/che/che_cycl.html It's from the "Ray Harryhausen Retro Sofubi Series." Any guesses from the Harryhausen fans as to what might be included?
That's sweet looking. I'd love to see some skeleton's fighting a Jason figure, from Jason and the Argonauts. That movie always freaked me out as a kid. I <3 Harryhausen.
Nice...but to be honest I think the Gehju is a little cooler! At 10,000, though, I'm interested to see just how big this guy is...
Does that say "30cm" on the info. page? If so, that's a decent height, for sure. I'm very interested in this guy, myself. Might be my first ever Pilot Ace purchase.
I actually really like this fellow! Very much like what all of the old Clash of the Titans characters used to look like!
Always liked Pilot Ace figures. Especially the Spectreman figure. This has got some great paints. Is the number limited to 30?
I'd love to see a Talos and a Medusa. I hope after they do the initial standard colorway they do some crazier colors down the road.
....huge Harryhausen fan here! (from last year's SDCC) So...now that I've regained my senses...a Talos'd be hot, but I'd rather see a Kracken from Clash, personally...oh man, so many fantastic creatures to choose from! And please, let there be GID...
I met him about 3-4 years ago at SDCC when he released his book. I did my skeleton warrior from the hydra teeth impersonation and he thought I was a loon! As he was signing my book, I noticed his fingers were as thick as bananas...I thought dear god how the f*** did he sculpt all that stuff!
He works so well as sofubi! I like this figure a lot more than the detailed Western Harryhausen Cyclops figures. There are so many others in Harryhausen's bestiary that'd work well, too. FWIW Dream Rocket's Balbagon was supposedly inspired in part by Gwangi. Looks more like Millennium Godzilla to me, but can see the Gwangi influence.
Boy I can't agree more! This sofubi translation makes him so much more of a supah fun toy to stomp on some tiny humans or battle Gogas!
