Yes, this was painted digitally. Same thought process, but none of the mess. :)

Nice. I would love to know how to use Painter. Seems like a lot to learn. Btw, what nationality are you?

American, born and raised in the U.S.A.

My wife is Japanese, so that is where the influence to sign my work with a Hanko came from.
This Hanko or Inkan, was lovingly carved for me by a toothless old man in Kyoto. He wasn't very reliable when it came to being at his store. But he was able to carve three of these for us in two days, plus still be able to handle all of his regular work. Pretty amazing when you look at the detail that is in just one of these stamps.

...as cool as ur puppy, very nice!! :D
not a critique, me might give it either a lil more realistic or kitchy (even more plastic) look to make it more edgy.
    anyway keep it up!

reminds me of paintings by judith eisler...

Nice. I was just appreciating your style and didn't really think it is very Asian but wondered if you were. I really like your style, very inspiring.

Now for some discipline to try out Painter.

I am purposefully trying to keep these a little more "loose" and "sketchy". All of my earlier work has always been so representational that I am now discovering a new world approaching the art in a looser style. This has been challenging for me so far. I have been having a hard time stopping and making a decision that there is enough there to represent what I want. I eventually see this evolving for me into a combination of both a realistic and impressionistic style.

Also, I have been a fan of Judith Eisler for some time. I really like the approach she takes with her imagery.

    Thanks,

    Jack
