[quote="jeremyriad"I think if there are any left, or if "significant interest is shown," the rest will probably be available through Super7, maybe individually for slightly more.[/quote] Count me as "significantly interested."
whoops! we jumped the gun a little, and the big sal test-shot should still be hiding. sorry everyone!
FYI, These aren't DIY blanks per se. Since, at signings, a lot of people want the artists to "sign/customize" toys for them, we decided, it made no sense to let a line for of people at a MF signing to be bringing [expletive deleted], etc to sign, so we made a limited number of whites just for the signing - then for an affordable price you get a toy, and you actually have the artist sign something they designed, not just some generic hunk of vinyl made by somebody else that the artists sees no royalty for. At least that is how we see it.
It's win win. I think these blank 'signature characters' are a cool move amidst a surplus of uninspired DIY toys flooding the scene. Even if the motivation to do it was for the artists, the fans benefit too. I'm thinking of my man Leecifer and how he buys production pieces to repaint. This is a more cost-effective means of fan customizing, in addition to being able to own an original by the artist whose character it is. Can't wait to see some realtime twitpics of the customs at SDCC.
I got to sit an pull the heads off these over coffee this am. Monster Family rules! Congrats to the artists!!!!
I have a feeling Hollis is a fan of collegiate level hockey. A little late but big ups to all three MF artists that helped make the signing awesome! All the ones I saw while waiting in line turned out really neat!
I have to admit, it is pretty sexy here. Luke can testify. But we are close to the Mexican border, he could have meant spicy.
