It´s funny that Robbie Williams said the same sentence when he showed his bedrom in his mansion on MTV .....while pointing at his bed he said "this is where the magic happens" ... but I guess he was referring to somthing that isnt one of the "workstations" this thread deals with ?
awesome turtles!!! were to the poor little buggers rest though? There's no log for them to chill on Are you doing a custom KawsXPus guy? How's that going to work?
They have that custom acrylic enclosure to crawl out on and bask under the lights (notice the one out in the photo). It's waaaay easier to clean and they seem to really like it! Yes the Pus piece will most likely be done for Dcon in LA November 21st.
Wow I never visit the Customs forum but seeing all of these cool work stations makes me want to learn to paint kaiju. If anything just for myself. Is it hard to learn? I think all that gear and v-color would be quite expensive too.
I love that you have an Oompa Loompa on your wall. My 5 year old is too scared of Willy Wonka to read Charlie and the Chocolate factory. I can't imagine how batshit it would make her to watch the Gene Wilder film.
Ok well I love to see workspace photos, and I know there are other people out there who want to update this thread as well, but just don't know it yet. Where does everyone else here work when they're creating? I do my work in my unfinished basement. The last photo is a washtub where I take my baaa... I mean I wash toys before I paint them.
I like it NT, don't be jealous (at least of me) I really need to score a drafting table, as of the moment I'm just working withan old desk I bought at a antique shop, It was cheap enough for me to dump in paint, and not have a care in the world, so... I'm just nosy, and I think seeing how other people work, can really help us push ourselves. I'd love to see Lamour update his workstation photo, I also liked seeing Rich's old spot.
Ok, I thought I should ad this, I just finished DIY'ing (not a word) it today. Ingredients:1 order of 30pc Chopsticks, 1 order of 20 alligator clips, 1 nag box, 1 piece of 3 inch Styrofoam, inside box. A cheap way to keep from smearing paint=Priceless. I've seen people do the same thing without the box, and just the Styrofoam, but I think the box gives it more weight, and it will be less prone to tipping.
Put a new fan in my spraybooth, so I had to raise it to get it to fit. I got sick of standing all the time to paint. My wife hooked me up with a new stool.
I have a very small room. I have no idea what I will do when I get an airbrush. These pictures make me sad..
