Holy Crap..... --------------------- On November 20, 2009, at a Borders bookstore in Columbus, Ohio, Sarah Palin held a book signing event in support of "Going Rogue". Palin's supporters wanted her to run for the presidency, but they weren't exactly sure what she'd do as president. Short on specifics, most of them were uncertain what her policy positions are. They just felt that they liked her. She's "real". And that the solution to all of our country's problems—health care, energy, the deficit, unemployment, and the economy—was to cut taxes and lower spending, and Palin, they said, would solve them by doing just that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKKKgua7 ... r_embedded This NEW LEFT MEDIA film was produced and edited by Chase Whiteside (interviews) and Erick Stoll (camera).
On that note, this is also worth a look for a good laugh/cringe. http://lookatthisfuckingteabagger.com/
I'm not defending Palin, but how is support for her different from people voting for Obama because is black or because he isn't Bush?
Not really different if you're knee jerking a vote based on a personality or ethnic background BUT I will say at least Obama can put a coherent sentence together and doesn't have that deer in the headlights look about him every time the camera rolls. We had this discussion before: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=24390&start=0&hilit=election I think what scares people like me (besides having an idiot like Palin in office) is what the old lady says in the beginning of the clip: "She stands for what America is......freedom, liberty" Which to me is just saying "I don't have a clue what she is about, and yes I'm too dumb to name one thing she has done, let me knee jerk and utter brainwashed rhetoric I heard conservatives drill into my head!" See if we all ignore Palin she'll crawl back under her rock.
Here's an interesting take on the Sarah Palin situation from Bob Cesca, one of my favorite political writers/bloggers. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bob-cesca/famous-for-being-famous-t_b_362934.html
I ignore most ignorant super patriotic idiots also. Unfortunately there isn't a rock big enough to crush all of them! Here's a clip for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2yFCvN2CT4 I think I threw up a little in my mouth...
I'd like to see the people on this website interviewed on camera and asked if they know what socialism is.
I would like to see most Americans asked to define socialism communism or democracy for that matter. Me too. i have never quite understood how people think she's shagable, at best she looks like a bargain bin porn star.
Sarah Palin is considered sexy only by default. Let's face it, the list of prominent 'hot' right-wing republican females is rather short... Barbara Bush? Peggy Noonan? Ann Coulter? Lucianne Goldberg? Condi Rice? I don't think so.
Than have sex with her? Can't I believe this is even being discussed, yes, I think I would. Though having read some excerpts of it, I imagine I would find that just as difficult.
I bet she has probably has a bear skin rug in front of the fire place she shags on, and I'm sure she shot the bear herself.
I wouldn't fuck either of them. I think no matter what your ideological basis, I find it insulting to women that it always comes down to a "sexy" or sex comment. If we are gonna go that way, how many male politicians are doable? It always makes me giggle a little inside its my most "liberal" friends or persons I know that are the first to jump to that. Way to be progressive. Sidenote: Sock puppets. and always sunny reference.
I guess a lot, since so many of them seem to be having extra-marital affairs. Bill Clinton was slingin' his stuff all over the place during his political career...
I was laughing for a while, then I realized how serious these people are. I die a little inside every time I see this shit. Will we all ever just get along?
I think it's healthy to fantasize about fucking politicians. After all, they fuck us on a regular basis. I don't think we've seen the last of Palin. This book campaign smacks of an attempt at a third party candidate run during the next election. I think she'll get it, too. Someone like the American Conservative Party will get behind her. That bit with the Newsweek cover was pretty dumb on their part.
As long as we have things like Fox News using their propaganda machine to get the common man to fight for the causes of the rich, no. It would be nice if people woke up to a lot of the bullshit going on and started thinking for themselves, whatever side of the issues they fall on, but that's probably far too much to hope for. Politically speaking, things just seem to be getting worse and worse with no signs of stopping.
