Toy karma struck! No kinda shit could have prepared me for this surprise. Looking back on the early posts in this thread, this was my top choice! Yay! I sort of wish some other people could have been around, as I opened this all alone, yet my excitement was the kind I remember from when I was little at Xmas or B-day!
No pics from me. I've been without a camera since coming back from the Bahamas (my 7 year old powershot died). My g/f did get a nice brand new Nikon D90 but she won't let me touch it. Her logic is this: "If you quit wasting money on stupid toys maybe you could save up for one!" She does have a point. It's on my to do list for the year
I don't have one either...those are camera phone pics, and I had to send them to my email, then download them to iPhoto, and then reupload to Flickr, to then post here. Pretty ghetto, but it works!
I don't even own a camera phone lol! Don't worry I'll try an sneak a tiny session in with that d90 when my other stuff arrives. Kim is quite possessive of her "things".
Velocitron version is awesome too - I hadnt seen these up close before - very nice. ALso, no offense to Alladdin, but have to agree with Slack on the Spooky Parade version. Are there two Spooky Parade versions out there? Shiverrrrrr Does anyone have a link to decent pics of all the Sarumon customs?
I didn't want to say anything, but while the concept and colors for the Spooky Parade one are great, I was pretty surprised as well how rough the actual paint work looks in the pics... it looks rushed and sloppy, especially compared to the Velocitron figure, which also looks like it is also drybrushed, but well. Edited for reading comprehension... I should get some.
Wow - Velocitron knocked it out of this world with his version. Great color choices. Congrats on the score FutureM! So much detail on it. Are the black details achieved through a paint "rub"?
Harmond called the store yesterday asking who Spooky Parade was because he had received a custom Sarumon by them. If we ask nice he might post pics.
I think it was a good idea but poor in execution because the figure isn't smooth. There were quite a few I so didn't want. While it's not in my top wants I'm pleased and who knows maybe we will start a trade post once these all get into peoples hands and people like/dislike what they got. (Yes there's two of these, different colored eyes but very similar)
I got notice that mine is now waiting for me at the PO. Now I feel bad in case I jinxed myself by dissing teh Spooky Parade version. On a side note, I meet the guys behing SPooky Parade at Tokyo Big Site Thanksgiving 07 - they were SUPER cool!
I have been compiling tons of photos, I am planning to put a Flickr page together this weekend, but I also want to get KillerJ's permission first.
Great idea. I have some I can contribute if you get it going. Ricky's custom is beautiful. It's VERY Velocitron. Congatulations!
^^I'll be sure to let everyone know when it goes live, you can browse, and then contribute pics to fill in the blanks!
Sounds great... looks like I'ma wait to get mine in person, but I will definitely take some good pics for the set when I do get it.
Can u also document who owns what, with email addresses, so we can bombard them with offers. 'sokay, I already hit up COnnell
Yes,There're 2 ver Spooky Parade SARUMON, One is Green Eye,One is Red Eye,& their Bone spray have a little different.
Raced out of work at 5:40PM (frickin early for me) - jogged two blocks to parking lot - expected to not make PO closing time - but miraculously, despite the rain and wind (cue: LA driving) the way was clear for an incredibly quick journey and unfettered access to my PO Box. And??? Soooooooooooooooooooo stoked! Amazing, amazing custom - and I know nothing about the artis, but appears to be a Japanese native juding by the sig on the card. Will post pics later and hope you experts can fill me in who this guy is!
It's so great reading about these customs getting into boardies hands. But the joy can only really be shared by those who were lucky enough to get them and admired by the rest of us by the addition of pics! Please keep those pics coming, folks.
Here you go, and Damn me if these pics taken at night with an SB tee as backdrop, do NOT do this guy any justice at all - anyway, Kirkland where are you when I need you!!!! Here are the mediocre pics of a great toy: Show card says it's by Nakayosi
