Fucking rules, and in the run for one of my favorite movies of 2010. http://www.reviewstl.com/black-dynamite ... view-0220/ If you haven't seen or heard anything about it yet, its one of those straight to DVD movies thats actually worth the watch. Super funny and very well put together. So many funny little things that will have you laugh and then rewind just to see it again. Dont want to ruin the ending, but you will see President Nixon in a kung fu fight scene with Black Dynamite, and when things get real bad the ghost Abraham Lincoln comes back ! Just one quote .. Black Dynamite: Now you be cool, baby, Bee here will keep you tight and outta sight. Dynamite’s gonna shake the tree from the roots, rake up the fruits, rip it up out the ground to find out what’s goin down. Don’t worry bout tomorrow cause tonight, Dyna- Off Camera Ho: Dynamite’s gonna make it all right! Black Dynamite: Euphoria, shut the fuck up! I know that was you, I ain’t even gotta look! I should send you back to Crenshaw Pete with his hot-ass coat hangers, b i t c h, would you like that?!
Just a few of my favorite marketing/promo vids for this movie! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mk6Zy1xC4JM&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgoqjYC3Rkw
Black Dynamite did get a super-limited theatrical release last October and unfortunately not many people saw it. I hope the good word of mouth and video release will get this film the attention it deserves. It's pure fun and makes for a great party movie. In my opinion, it is a much more faithful tribute to grindhouse cinema than the QT/Rodriguez project. And be warned, after you see it, you'll be spitting Black Dynamite-isms for the foreseeable future.
Yeah man totally agree, last night me a few friends enjoyed it over a few brews, total blast. So true, I've been just splurting out " DynOmite ... DynOmite" all day... Shh, mama, you gonna wake up the rest of the bitches
Saw a commercial for this tonight and figured that it had potential, but could also be dismal. Maybe I'll have to check it out
It's definitely the film with the most Kung-Fu treachery I've ever seen. It really shows a lot of love to old school Blaxplotiation in a way most films can't reproduce. It's funny on it's own but if you grew up with movies like Black Caesar, Superfly, Disco 9000, etc you will really appreciate what Black Dynamite offers. Best scene is when he jumps up from the desk and his afro hits the boom mic, just priceless. Who would have thought Michael Jai White had such a comedy presence. Can't wait to see what the cartoon network series looks like.
I'm happy to say he is from my home town and good friends with my family, usually he comes through at least once a year. I'm gonna have to hound him to see if I can get some move nunchucks props or something. The mic scene is so funny, he sort of just looks at it out of the corner of his eye ,lol My favorite line ... Haha! I threw that shit before I came in the room!
best line in the whole damn movie, that and the part where they had to switch the stunt double because he smacked him
Caught this last year at a film festival out here in Melbourne, definitely one of my favourite films of 2009
Saw it this weekend, really incredible. I'm a big fan of Blaxploitation films, and they got the vibe down amazingly well; it was funny without being outright ridiculous. My favorite bit was the "Who saw that coming?" line; impeccable comedic timing.
Yep. Came out last week, I believe. We got it from Netflix, but I'll probably end up owning it at some point.
I hope they had as much fun making it as it was to watch. Loved the final villain and that he fought in his "style". Loved the Roscoe's jokes. 15 years in LA and I still havent eaten there. Lots of laughs. Oh, Captain Kangeroo as a pimp!!! "Pimp is legit."
I just saw BD...it's awesome and had me laughing from start to finish. "First Lady, I'm sorry I pimp slapped you into that china cabinet" ...Now who the hell’s interrupting my Kung Fu?!
I just grabbed the movie today, the trailer was enough to make me want to own it. I have a soft spot for Blaxploitation films because they are usually just so out there.
saw black dynamite tonight. soooo freakin good ! I heard moonwalker by michael jackson was just released on dvd as well
