http://wfmu.org/playlists/SV http://www.daptonerecords.com/ (can find the podcast page) not strictly motown but good soul podcast.
Yesterday I temporarily put up a post indicating that I had an all-Motown broadcast going. Within an hour, three people visited. All three disconnected as soon as a country song came on. The label is rightly known for its r&b/soul artists but they did release a number of country singles, and circa '69-'70 some "Acid Rock" including singles by Rare Earth. It can be a little startling to go from Martha and the Vandellas to some country guy yodeling about Jesus if you're not expecting it. And then there are the Christmas songs...
didnt know Rare Earth had releases on Motown...looks like i need to dig a little deeper. EDIT: Rare earth records was a Motown label.. learn something new everyday. Thanks Dean
Not a podcast NOR motown but a very cool show from the 60s called Soul. http://www.thirteen.org/soul/ Check it out its quite interesting and awesome music
Kinda surprising, isn't it GoldenArmKid? Abe, I'm watching the '73 Earth Wind and Fire clips. Amazing! My first thought was "remember when people played instruments?"
