i always die at least once in that first base/tunnel level, usually trying to get a power up. level four maybe?
I have a friend that decided when he was 10 or so (which would have been early 90s) that he was going to beat Contra without the code. He eventually achieved it. As for me, no clue. But now I kind of have the urge to find out.
one of my good friends in college would regularly make this challenge and then watch others fail. then he would play for like two hours straight, beating the game twice in a row, while only pausing to take massive bong hits. he was a mathfreak though and i believe he thought he could see the matrix.
I am always too high to remember, if any of you have a wii or ds they did contra rebirth (a sequel staying within the confines of old school graphics and gameplay) no where near as hard but fun as heck, also they did another blaster master but the graphics are a little too PC looking for me metal slug any one???
On one occasion me and my mate completed metal slug 3 only dying once after about 50 attempts. God it was sad what we used to get up to during university
metal slug is not too bad the melee action really helps over contra, some games really irk me with the you just bumped chests with an enemy you are now dead, I under stand when little mario gets ramed by a turtle but bill from contra he is a hardened grunt drop some 'bows, dino ricky even got a health gauge and he was a little kid fighting dinos
I recently played ghosts and goblins for the first time since I was a kid and I think I did better back then. So hard!
If you have a DS, Contra 4 is a pretty good game. Its kind of a throwback to Contra 1 for some of the things. Its also insanely difficult.
is there a cheat code for landing the plane on nes top gun? or how about getting to the bottom of the mountain in the snowboard level on sega cd cliffhanger? many endless nights attempting both....
