I'll be in NYC for Easter. Otherwise, we woulda rounded up a posse for this bullshit. Fucking with cosplayers, sun...WHAT!?
Yeah I would have gone but we're in NYC as well. There is a comic con in a couple of weeks i think, but the tickets look a bit steep for me considering i don't buy comics at all. I wouldn't mind looking around at dealer tables for old toys. We should put a swap meet/yard sale thing together now that the weather is nice.
Nah...I'm just an asshole! Actually, I went to college at WPI in Massachusetts...and there, they had a very...uh...lively scifi society/club/cult going on. We called them "Wedge Rats" because they used to loiter in this in-door foyer between two dorm buildings called "the wedge". Anyway, every now and then, we'd come back hammered, high as fuck, or both from where-the-fuck-ever...and we'd have to walk through the wedge to get to our dorm. And sure enough, it was like a medieval renaissance festival...at 3 in the fucking morning. I couldn't actually tell if they were fighting *as anime characters* or as Dungeons & Dragons dude or whatever--drugs'll fuck with your shape-recognition abilities like that...but it was some real-ass shit. Man, would we laugh... Ah, good times. Anyway, Ben (Prometheum5) goes there now...do they still do that shit? Oh, Ed...definitely Beantown vinyl swap meet!
Yes. I'm considering going and trying to spot them... I went to PAX East last weekend at the same convention center and saw a bunch of them, but none of them together... their influence must be spreading.
I figured someone around here might be involved in the Japanese Vinyl: Kaiju as Art panel on Sunday. Guess not. Well I'll be there either way!
There was only like 6 people in the room anyway. I would have stayed home today but made the trek down just to see what this panel was all about...Grrrrrr
Wow, that sucks. Hope you bitched out the management and got your admission price back (unless you stuck around to hang out)... Now...don't suppose anyone's going to Boston Comic Con?
