So, he's no longer making " cheaply made toys"?

I was wondering if anyone else caught that, for a minute I was wondering if he did make some cheap vinyl as the pieces I have are somewhat expensive. Not sure how I feel about that comment nor supporting his work any longer, at least in the vinyl form, will def think twice before my next purchase. I wonder what Hiddy would say about this comment?

Everyone is so quick to jump on that comment but knowing his relationship with secretxbase (which basically brought more exposure to the Western world), I highly doubt he would dismiss the toys and community so quickly.

I'm betting that it's not so literal and some of the semantics are lost in translation.

As someone who get interviewed often, (and misquoted pretty much every time) I'd say take the cheap vinyl line with a grain of salt - even moreso if this interview was translated from japanese to english.

What I took away was that he was saying "I'm not doing toys in that cheap chinese vinyl" I'm guessing this interview is tailored to those who do not obsess over the national origin of vinyl, but are familiar with but arent exactly smitten with western designer toys.
    Just my 2 yen
