Fantastic album. Have you ever seen this version of Gangster of Love? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jk31242CnkU
Guitar Watson's lps are a little hit-or-miss in my experience. When he was on his lps are great, but some I recall being pretty generic R&B. Worth the price just for the album art though.
Dont like the Black Lips really but I can't get 'Veni Vedi Vici' out of my head. Such a great tune! Too bad the singer thinks he's one of the Beastie Boys in the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4mfVyLxYu8
I have been on a serious dub kick lately and Prince Far I is one of my favorites. He can even rock a Psalm. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNBbep66pgg
Oh and from the childhood memories dept. Killjoy - Rich Plastic People from the first MRR comp. Theyre from Menlo Park too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9F5_W9fj33U
It's a mellow morning for me. This works. Flying Lotus - Do the astral plane http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFix7VLor88
Oh my, listening to LTJ Bukem/Good Looking Records first eight releases and I'm blown away this morning. I always forget how spectacular they are. Demon's Theme, Bang the Drums, Atlantis, Music, Bell Tune, Tear Into It, 19.5...The 3:19 mark of 'Demon's Theme' always gives me goose bumps.
Ive had that Antione Dodson Bed Intruder Song stuck in my head alllllllll day long... I guess it wins SOTD for the sheer weirdness/hilarity of the track. Thoughts skullbrainers? Decline of Western Civilization or breakaway everything is ironic popculture memey genius.
