Guess who showed up for dinner this evening? Incredible character to start with and then perfectly executed with a great texture (with a rub to bring it out and add a 20 year old feel to it) and hand painted colors. Very happy with this one. Thanks for starting this thread and introducing me to Pico Pico Alice!
Not sure if they were left over from there or Superfestival or made to order separately (ordered through LuluAmy). We'll have to take him out for a pint - he looks like he'd be up for that and be the life of the party. I've got one of the Finger Kaiju Ubu guys on the way too. It's in the Encyclopedia of Kaiju if you've got that around. If not, he's a finger puppet size figure described thusly: "A finger cut off a giant kaiju becomes a kaiju itself. It has hyperelastic skin." It's basically a claw grown into another figure (with a goofy scary but scared look on its face) - it looks to have quite a bit of detail and texture for such a small figure (2.5-2.75"). Check the links at the beginning of the thread if you haven't yet. That guy has a really fantastic imagination.
Man, I wish I had pulled the trigger on this guy when it was on sale at Lulu. I love my Beccos mini I picked up from Kaiju Attack Barcelona show. Great pick-up. How tall is he?
The resin guys look pretty sweet too. Yeah, I feel pretty lucky. I went back and forth on the Lady Catfighter a while ago and missed it (I need to stop doing that - wasn't the first time). I had just emailed the Barcelona guys where one of the HPs was on hold and found out it was actually sold (actually, just checked and it's still listed as On Hold - hmm). Later that same day or the next I pulled up LB just to see if anything looked interesting and Tah-Daow! Floor to the the top of his head is 9". To the top of the horns is 10".
So the "HP" is the FP with some rub paint added basically. Really disappointing since the "HP" aspect added to the FP is minimal and lazy to the extreme.
I just kicked myself in the ass. I didn't think I could physically do that--and sitting down at a computer no less. I like his style but have been snoozing on the releases. kicked myself again...! wow!
Nope - it's handpainted all around. There's some underpainting and some rub to bring out texture. The flesh color on the HP is painted on while the FP (appears) to be the underlying vinyl. The paint has the feeling of being brushed on (flesh parts are a little rough and some variation allowing the underpaint to come through - especially in the yellow parts). His blog shows the two side by side-ish. I like both of them. I obviously like the HP better.
I should apologize for my earlier comment. Its based on the factory paint but handpainted into awesomeness.

http://www.lulubelltoys.com/beckos-blac ... order.html Can anyone help explain this release a little better? At first I thought it was a vinyl figure but the description says its a 2x3 painting... Don't really know what's up and the picture doesn't help.
It's a typo one way or the other. Shoot them an email and Amy will be more than happy to clarify. My guess is it's the figure.
my guess an error too... that was the description for the paintings they had. probably posted on the go. if not... i'd buy those $1000 paintings for 90bucks all day
Issue resolved. Amy changed the info on the toy. VERY tempting but I just bought a Mad Baron and Bemon on no income... Needless to say I'm broke as a mug.
Love the new Lulubell Version Black Animal. Also wish I could have gotten a blank GID one from Ningyoushi. Aargh!
