^^ I'm with you. More Woo.

Something I just noticed - anyone have any ideas?

Looks porous like that of a morel mushroom, yet the body shape reminds me a lot of zudon.

I was thinking both those things. I kind of ruled out the Zudon take because - well - it's obviously been done. But, yeah, it does look a bit like a Morel and maybe a shrew (the detail on the 1st pic) but they just did Mongura (which I'm still bummed the orders got miscommunicated or whatever - anyway, missed my chance at that one). Something to keep an eye on.

Funny Butanohana bidding story to share now that's it's over:

So I put in a bid of 16500 for that gid butanohana hayabusa over the weekend.. Figured it might be enough since I just lost on the gamakizura the other day and was watching the end prices for cro***** whomever that is (I think a service), he or she seemed to be the big bidder on most of them. While waiting for the end I casually went to mandarake to see if the butanohana gigasu I'd been checking out for weeks was still there. Low and behold it is, AND another gid hayabusa for 15000! I was like shit I hope it does go over my bid and I quickly signed into mandarake to add it to my cart if my bid was not enough and scrolled back to the auction window.

Here's where fate intervened: so I'm the high bidder with 5 minutes to go when it jumps to 15500. Too close to my bid and I knew it would go over so I go back to the other window to quickly add the other hayabusa to my cart. My computer suddenly freezes and shuts down. I get back on and not only is it sold out I lost the auction by 500 yen! Can you believe it?!

I consoled myself with the buta gigasu purchase and was fortunate to win mr winged lion I missed 4 times for a decent price today. The irony though is I have been saving for a new iMac and the crash that caused the mess is a huge SIGN for: Don't do this keep saving for that mac.

    Great story Chris,

Good to hear you finally scored the Griffin! I was watching the Gamakujira and thought i might get lucky, i thought wrong
Gigas is not a bad score either, easily one of my favourite Butanohana toys :D

on another note i saw "Giant Monster Series are working towards the launch in late September" on the Butanohana site? anyone know anything about this?

Haha... still an awesome toy. The price is not that bad also, considering what older stuff has been going for on YJA lately.

this is not a buying service, he is a super collector/producer with no limits on toy budget. i mean seriously no limits.
when he rolls in, just give way, prices will be back to "normal" once he gets the stuff he is after.

i think buta also just announced that there will be a rerun of the recent griffin, matango etc. looks like they are serious about deflating secondary prices. we already see some old classics like kanegons "re-issued", maybe more are on the deck? so maybe no need to be over aggressive price-wise.

Whoa, I guess since Buta doesn't have a lot of GID I don't follow it too closely and hadn't noticed, but I did not realize any of their pieces were selling for so much.

I was wondering about this. He won a purple Dustman I had bid on. And a few other toys recently as well. He's got good taste.

Yesss, glad to see the panda set coming back, the last couple I've missed. And I'm always for more cavemen! Really great to see him come out with more as there's really nothing quite like them on the market. Really hope he will continue churning out a village numbers worth of 'em.
