Hi all, I just wanted to let people who might not check the Resin forum know that I have been toiling away quietly on a toy line for the past few months, and the first release is available now! Check here for the figures: http://prometheusrising.wordpress.com/store/ Each figure features one point of articulation and is painted using Monster Kolor paints! "In 2010, the esteemed Dr. Hayflick was experimenting with macrocellularification, an experimental technique for making normally microscopic specimens large enough to be analyzed using the naked eye. Using highly unstable ATP-X, Dr. Hayflick was able to grow individual cells that were up to two or three inches in diameter for analysis. What happened next is still under investigation, but early reports indicate that a mutagen experiment elsewhere in the facility suffered some complications, and an experimental mutagen leaked into the ventilation system at the same time that a major breakthrough in Dr. Hayflick’s work was expected. The facility was destroyed in the aftermath of what happened next, with Dr. Hayflick still unaccounted for, but the world now faces a deadly new menace, the Killer Cultures! From the mutagen ATP-X birthing pools beneath the site of the lab, macrocellified pathogens have been launching their attacks on humanity, wreaking havoc wherever they appear!" The first Killer Culture making its debut is the Escherichia killer, one of the front line and most abundant macrocell bacteria observed. Armed with a crushing tentacle and deadly toxin transport proteins, E.killers exist only to feed and destroy. No antibiotic tried yet has been able to stop their deadly advance!
The first E.killer is loose in the wild, and Phil was nice enough to review it: http://www.battlegrip.com/?p=18523
The first wave of Escherichia killer sold out at the East Coast Chogokin Summit this weekend. News on what's next should be coming soon.
I was graced today by some amazing fan-art by Quibx, AKA Josh Bernard, CDX Overlord! Kirkland, thanks for the love... I've got some macrobe fighter ideas, and there's some mecha-ey ideas percolating in my head.
Ah. So someone voices a dissenting opinion, another feels threatened, flame war ensues? Just another day on skullfuck.
No, I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of someone screaming "HYPEZ!" while shilling their own stuff on the same message board.
If there's some hype surrounding my figures, send it my way, cuz fuck if I've heard it. To quote from my longer response to you, At the same time, I really wish you wouldn't take this so personally. I dig your artwork and your vintage collection, but think your recent behavior and business is unfortunate. It doesn't mean I don't like you, but damn if you're not so easy to get a knee-jerk from whenever anyone offers criticism about those stupid things.
Don't criticize me for shit that other people do. I have no control over people flipping their Nags, and I have no say in how Shigeru sells his toys... would you like it people started telling you how you can and cannot sell your stuff?
Congrats on the sell out of wave 1, man. I hope to get my hands on one from wave 2! BTW- I actually appreciate it when people like Prometheum hype their stuff on here. I've discovered a lot of cool toys as a result of that sort of thing.
Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm always looking for constructive criticism as well, so by all means, let me know what you guys think. I've been working on a revised version of the E.killer while I prepare to clean up the second figure for molding. The new killer molds make the figures require much less clean up, and add a new feature that I'm really excited about.
It was a feat, but there will be version 2 E.killers at NYCC on Saturday! These Fall Fatality E.killers are the first figures with the new magnetic articulation, something I'm very excited about.
NYCC was a blast, but it was too crazy to actually try and sell my guys. One was graciously given a spot on the Onell table, and I have the other two for sale in my Store.
