I think people talk shit about the Nags because of how many seem to be flipped. How often do you see AA shit show up, especially right after it fucking drops. super duper jealous of everyone who got one of these blue beauties. I would LOVE a db in my collection, but can also be content with the pictures. I just wish more people would show their shit, unfortunately it only invites trouble.
That's kind of cool. Honestly I'm not going to display mine with the kimono much, I don't want to worry about it getting messed up. It's really nice and well made though. I'd like to see the others. Does anyone know if there's much paint difference between the normal and DX versions?
Congrats on the score, Jeff. I am wondering, in terms of hues on the blue vinyl, how different is your DB from PK's? Is that the true color hue or just lacks light a bit? Coz your's kinda on the darker shade.
as far as I can judge the difference from the 2 pics I have seen, the difference between the 2 versions are: *kimono with the DX(deluxe ?) version *orange tongue with the DX version (silver on the regular) *metalic colors on the DX´s head and belly...a kinda metalic green maybe the back will show a bigger difference ???

The thing is...is that those options above (i.e. lotteries, sales at night, time zones..etc) still allow people to have a shot at owning something. It doesn't guarentee anything but it gives them a shot. A closed email list does not. Anyway..awesome drunkboy. All of these aa toys are pretty cool

Also did the blue version come with the same header?
Not to derail the thread but how can lotteries be as unfair as a closed email list? Lotteries you at least have a chance to buy something, even if it's as you say "some weird time". If you want it bad enough you make the effort to find out when that time is (japan is usually ahead anywhere from 11-12 hrs) and act accordingly. If you win you win and get something you really wanted at cost. If you lose you know most places will offer something else around the corner. This is by far a lot fairer than "you're not on the list you're not getting in" mentality that prevails with Anraku. Not begrudging Anraku list members here either. I happy for the people that are really into collecting it and get it for cost (and big point here: actually keep it!). But for someone like myself who likes maybe one or two sculpts, it's a bit of a turn off with their selling method and would never really explore them further.

Though I won't really be displaying him with it on it's really nice quality. I don't wanna ruin it with my open air display though and get dust all up in it.

I'm finally one of those guys I hate I usually hate trying to take cool pictures of toys 'cause I'm not all that good at it...when it comes to using my brother's camera, it's mostly luck for me. But I couldn't stop photographing this beautiful thing. I need to start refining my collection. Start selling off the misfits and get together some money for more gems like this. Once I can afford it, I'm hungry for a yellow one.

the giant venus is such a great sculpt...too bad i have never snagged one (particularly the yellow one when i've had the chance)... which reminds me,,,i really need to track down a yellow one,,any trade or sale offers out there??
Thanks atease I absolutely love this toy. I've been handling it all day, there really is so much amazing detail to it, and it looks a different kind of awesome from every direction. I like the header card a lot too, I'll have to take pictures of it later. Other than the milky white one having so little paint, there's another thing I think would make me enjoy it less. I'm really into glowies, they make up half or more of my small collection...and any time I look at a toy cast in white vinyl, milky or solid, in my head I'm screaming "WHY DON'T YOU GLOW". I admit I'm weird about that though. jebcrow, I definitely imagine you should find a yellow one before I do...me having that kind of money is like the planets aligning. I won't be TOO jealous of you; this pink beauty is going to keep me happy for a long, long time
Found out some information about the general inspiration for the drunk boy apparently there is a story about demons and the like and there is a demon called Shuten-dōji who is a drunken monster. That's about all i could really remember i was told by one of my Japanese friends. Maybe someone on here knows this story and would like to elaborate? .
There's a link to a Wiki about the story in some thread here. Maybe the first discussion thread about DB? Like some other Anraku stuff (Nue) it's based on a Japanese legend.
