Just a little information.....Osaka is not Tokyo (meaning it's not that close to me). I took an hour train + an eight hour bus ride down, but I'm not complaining at all!!!!! I have never been to Astro Zombies before so I took a lot of pictures of the outside plus all the stuff set up for the event. I was a little excited being there at 7:30 am for an 8:30 pm event (I didn't hang out I walked around) (only because it was a lottery event, or else I would have ): The shop closed a couple hours early to set up and put this sign in front: Not part of the event or display. Just the regular display in the shop: The initial line was about 60 people, but once the people with numbers went in about another 60+ were able to go inside also: NOT FOR SALE DISPLAY: A few more pictures were on display, but I better move along. First I got a few autographs: Oh and there were a few figures: One of the HP's (not mine): another one: another one: Last one: A little Marble and a Black Glitter Wing:
First, thanks for sharing the pics! Great to see stuff like this. But. Was the man himself there? It seems you did get a few autographed pieces of art and a figure or two, so I'm assuming he was, but no pictures of him still? Was this part of a one time event or something else? Any other news about what else he's been up to and coming up from him? I take it any new figure would've been captured already.
I was running super late at catching my bus so once I got my stuff signed I didn't even have time for a picture with him before I RAN out!! Yes, he was there and SUPER nice to everyone. Very friendly taking pictures, shaking hands and signing everything that was handed to him! It was a signing at Astro Zombies. Open to the public from 8:30 pm until 10:30 pm, but he was very accommodating to all that showed up he signed until about 11:30 pm. This is all I know.
DAMN! Mark, what is the story with the blind bagged SWs?? I *need* one of those! was it a small number for sale, or many like the Siamese Pirates? I'm hoping its many.... oh man, I want one of those bad! Phil
I honestly don't know the number of each color. There seemed to be a decent amount of them, but I think it was only for this release. I LOVE the name and how it's dated, oh and this one is Pink/GID :
that pink skullwing kills me!!! I can't stand it! looks like there was a lot of cool stuff...wonder if any of these will show up somehow.
Wow Nice pics. You did a great job. Thanks for the coverage. I gotta get to Japan one of these days Yes need Skullwing (and all of that framed artwork )
The Hp's are great and I like the blind bag wings except for the glitterwing. Glitter vinyl is really interesting but I don't think it works well with the skullwing. THe art wins the show though. Very cool.
Great Pushead event! (Aren't they all) Those Skullwings are pretty fucking rad! I would like that pink please!
I wish there woulda been an event at AZ when I was in Osaka. That shop was really bad. Overrated and kinda boring. That's coming from a serious horror / gore junkie. Especially compared to the other stores in the area.
awesome awesome awesome! thanks for the pics, you really got some good stuff. that glitter skullwing looks incredible!
'Wings are way cooler than the Pirates! And those marbled ones are better looking than the HP 'Wings, IMO! I hope we see more marbled stuff coming from SB...would love a blue/red marbled 'Brain! Thanks for the pics, Mark! Hope to see some more of your marbled 'Wing...namely a glow shot!
i've always only looked at skullwings from the outside, but the marbled ones here make me want to own one. beautiful stuff! apologies for the Fresh Meat question, but does anyone know how the marbled effect is achieved?
Awesome coverage Mark. Those Skullwings all look amazing, the pink and the black/green in particular.
