I love how people hate toys troll the customs area too You must have really disliked the Skull Bee to do this to it surely?
I got it for $10 in the Super 7 Discount bin. I actually really like the sculpt. The original color was horrible. Pink white green with writing on it.

Um, no. On a serious note, I looked at http://www.flickr.com/photos/drilone/collections/72157625774748325/ and basically I saw the same colour/technique on about 16 different figures. Why pick a Skull Bee then for this 'design'? To me it looks like you don't give a shite what toy you're painting, no thought has gone into the size, shape, positioning or even the history or heritage of the Bee or Secret Base. If you're going to just use the same idea on everything it makes the subject redundant. All IMHO of course
didnt your parents teach you that if you didnt have anything nice to say, keep your mouth shut? they mustve forgotten that important fun factoid in your upbringing. you're allowed to be critical, (obviously) but there is a fine line between offering a critique and being a hater. so you dont like customs..BFD and who cares what you like anyways. I forgot the bit where it says 'post your customs and everyone will say nice things about it'. If you don't want comments why would you take the time to take a photo and then post about it. Unless you're doing it just to have your ego stroked? So my explanation as to why I didn't like it wasn't detailed enough? I'm just doing a Geo and using my words. I think Mr. DrilOne would prefer thoughts on his custom, as opposed to 'yeh man, thats sick!' 'aweeesome'
which would have been a legitimate argument if your "thoughts" were actually expressed in your first post... now that's a well articulated and perfectly reasonable criticism of someone's work. and that is just being a douche. so your first response is to be a douche, good for you. i look forward to ignoring everything you have to say from now on.
It was $10, and it is just a toy. I don't really care what toy it is. You have a right to your opinion and I have a right to paint what ever the I want. If you feel then why come in here. You must be so miserable in your life that you have to cry about people painting freakin plastic, get over it. And i am going to keep painting , or should I say destroying Vinyl.
I like DrilOne's style. It is a little different than most other customs. And i imagine it takes several layers to create the oxidized look. My big gripe is when a toy that is hard to get is turned into a custom. There are many toys out there that are not rare at all and look great as customs. but knowing there is one less of something i wanted makes me sad.
I'm going to say this: There are ALWAYS going to be haters. It's part of the game. That being said... I say let's screw up some Nags. Damaged some Bemons. Spit on some Secret Base. Paint the town red. Saliva, eggs, bullet holes, fire, acid! Bring it all! I still give major props to the BBQ'd Goga. As for this custom, I like your stuff, Drilone, keep doing what your doing. Would have perferred the eyes white, like the Horvath pocket, or have some green algae going on there. Maybe some screws too.
