+1, I've been lucky on the secondary market so I'll prolly just wait for it to pop up for sale here or on the bay.
yeah, and with this release it sucks especially because I've been wanting a colorless clear release since I first saw rangeas.
What do you guys think about the new blobpus mid-size? http://toybotstudios.blogspot.com/2011/02/t9g-rangeas-mid-size-set-blobpus-6th.html The paint is classic but I think the images might be of the original full-size? I had a mid-size white but didn't like it very much compared to the original size, and don't like the gold GID mid-size, so I'm on the fence right now
those are the full-sized versions. I couldn't get into the mid-sized stuff--I'm just going on what I've seen in pics. I almost goofed up and ordered these. the Blopus paints were my least favorite colorways, but I guess they're growing on me.
Though I am not a big fan of the mid size Rangeas I sent my order in - I have been on the hunt for the first Blobpus Rangeas Colorway for a couple of years now and I feel like this is the closest I might get . . .
personally, i do like the mid sized rangeas very much. the size is ideal for space tight apartments. however it is a little disappointing to see that they are mostly just replicating colours of past standard size releases for the mid sized. it is nice to see the replication done for the OG white & green pair but to do so for so many of the past releases is beginning to be boring for even long time rangeas fans. in my opinion, the new blobpus mid sized releases are tremendous waste of blobpus's incredible talent and colour sense. something entirely new would have been much more exciting.
I totally agree!!! If they had altered the mid size sculpt it would be an awesome concept though - like kid Rangeas and the adult version. I still think they missed a great opportunity with the mid size sculpt ...
My thoughts exactly. It just baffles me why not just do new paint aps. They're going to mess things up for the midsize Rangeas if they keep this up.
I really don't like regurgitation releases and being a smaller size doesn't make do the brand any good. As much as I am a big fan, I just think T9G ran out of ideas and needed quick cash.
http://museumt9g.blog24.fc2.com/blog-entry-175.html anyone going to be around for that show? =p i like these photos, if for no other reason than to illustrate the differences between the full (top) and middle (bottom) size sculpts. and while i can't really fathom the reasons behind introducing the smaller sculpt as a "reprint" of the larger versions, i'm happy that they have at least a little wider availability, or else i probably would have missed them altogether...
though I would take a full size Zombie, I would prefer this one full size: http://museumt9g.blog24.fc2.com/blog-date-201101.html
T9G released a couple of standard sized rangeas along with the zombie rangeas at his saisei show. Here are some of them in his new G-Paint style. The effect is amazing in person. http://www.flickr.com/photos/7527444@N06/
Wow, these are beautiful. Thanks for the pics! I wish I could have one of these! At least I found a The Lobby Rangeas recently . . . just waiting for it to arrive
OK, so after a while after the release, I finally gave these a shot. I dig these middle-sized versions a lot I just have this one, the green blobpus paint, and the unpainted green. I think I'll try to locate the GID MIB and call it a day.
im diggn the new middle size. the full size i do like better dont get me wrong. but this new size is still nice even though they didnt make any huge changes.the glow on this bad boy is extreme too.
Really? I'm still partial to the full size. I just can't get over the fact that there hasn't been a new original paint job on the middle. I'd rather just have the fullsize.
^yeah...it's a great size for collecting. and I just like how it comes off a little more. I do wish that they did more cool paint jobs with this one, but I do like that they revisit some older ones. the standard version are too expensive for me, but i like the stuff they've done with him. the few painted versions I've seen for the mid one that isn't from the OG days kind of blow. the white vinyl with blue and red sprays--yuck! the zombie version was OK, but I wouldn't buy it. le sigh...
I prefer the original, too. The proportions are more appealing to me. But I do wish there was more releases with new paintjobs either way.
Now that I have seen the mini Rangeas I am even more disappointed that the middle is more or less just a down-scaled Rangeas (and I agree with hellopike about the proportions - something seems a little off with the middle ones).
I think in person, they hold up a lot better. I stopped comparing them to the original sculpt and just took it for what it was and I really like them. I had to let go of what I've got, but I'll be keeping my eyes open for new releases.
