UFO technology! I love how the vapor trail from the liquid nitrogen streams off as the superconductor floats around the track.

E Cat sounds cool too. Hmmm. But what about my V8 Hemi? :(

science theories put to experimental demonstrations are fun and all, but how about some practical applications of the darkest, blackest magiks?

this camera doesn't need to focus because it focuses on everything at once, and you can choose your focal point after the fact.

    ooOOOoOOoOOOOoooh

Interesting. Though I think this is still in the experimental stage. Currently it's a poor solution to a problem that doesn't really exist. Though I can see that down the line, as this technology becomes more capable of doing what the user wants, it could replace SLR. It appears that the photos all have the same depth of field, and that you can only change the focal point. Anyone serious about photography will want to be able to change aperture size to achieve the depth of field they desire. And focusing a camera manually really isn't that hard.
But if it develops to the point where it focuses on everything from 1" to infinity, and then you're able to set the focal point and depth of field after the fact that could be really cool!

Ultra999, thanks for those links. Amazing stuff ... could eventually be of use in forensics, security and surveillance as well as aesthetic applications.

    Great thread!

I want a Quantum Locking restaurant. A place where something like that is the way food is delivered to your table. Just imagine a burger floating to you!

I like to say somthing really clever and intelligent, but all that comes to mind, is the skateboards from "back to the future" movies!
