So many good ones to pick. This is from Plover's flickr, but it's really from CKA I think and I'm sure it's been posted here. It's not that they're a bunch of GID HP Bemons, it's that the guy is just playing around with them and having fun. No pretentious BS, no hype, just fun with what it was. People were getting excited without being bitter cynics about things. It was just a community of collectors being excited, nothing else. Not to say the board doesn't have genuine excitement and enthusiasm, it does, but mixed in is so much more paranoia, greed, cynicism, ignorance and a lot of other things that have taken a lot of the fun away (but not totally for me.) This picture just kind of takes me back to when I joined on and was like "WTF is that thing?" and did nothing but ignore work and obsess over the "Search" button and "Show Your Collection" threads.
Similarly, sanjeev's GID collection was very impressive before the big sale: http://toyboxdx.com/brog/?p=2259
He had an amazing collection. He stopped posting about 4 years ago I think, so many crazy collections out there that would melt people's faces.
His all GID blows my mind. The GID unpainted Anraku he had was nuts. I liked that at first it's a blast of white then you start to make out what awesome toys are there mixed up.
Don't remember where I snagged this from, someone can fill in that blank, but I saved this photo to give me hope that one day I'll have a wall like this:
That's Choon's (kurmonz) stuff. I assume he lives in that one and only room, I know I wouldn't leave.
This pic made me drool for Anraku and still does. It's hard knowing you may never own a Vader Gorilla.
Guh, I forgot about this picture. GUHAHAKAHHA! I MAY never own a lot of things. But I never say die. The fight is ALWAYS on! There are some great shots from the Monstock collection of Anraku too if you search around. Some insane toys!
Ah yeah, this one too. This is the only photo I know of with the most variety of Mescalgon. I don't think I've seen any of these anywhere else.
Truth, I do hold a glimmer of hope deep inside. There are a few things on my shelves I didn't think I would get. Keep those F5 fingers sharp kids, you just never know when opportunity will knock.
